Over 51,000 runners will be participating and an expected 2.5 million spectators will be lining the streets across multiple boroughs. Police are assuring the public that the marathon will "be a very safe event." A 19-year-old Syrian man was arrested on Tuesday in Schwerin, Germany. He is suspected of planning an Islamist- motivated attack using "highly explosive" materials according to the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office. PATE FILES LAWSUIT Etowah businesswoman Cat Pate has filed a $1.2 million lawsuit

Nancy Norcross Davis, age 94, of Decatur, died September 20 at Grace Health Care in Decatur. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga. Bowers Funeral Home of Decatur is in charge of arrangements. James “Adam” Yoder, age 38, of Maryville, died October 25th. He was an actor and musician. Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Bordwine Funeral Home with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m.
