GET READY FOR THENEW ENERGY FUTURE

As populations grow and economiesdevelop, we'll need to find responsibleways of meeting the growing demandfor energy.

We can't predict the future, but ourscenario modelling tells us that threethings are for certain:

The demand for energy will continueto increase

Conventional oil and gas supplieswill struggle to keep up with demand

And environmental stressesare increasing.

So how can we deliver more energyand less CO2?

In reality, this challenge will requireradical new thinking. It demandsinnovators with imagination, restlessness, the will to challenge rules and the desireto break new ground. Thats why weactively seek people like this fromuniversities. And its why, when you joinShell, we do everything we can tostimulate and encourage your mind togrow, explore and think even bigger.

Weve already achieved some of theindustrys most impressive feats by holdingto the belief that for every problem, theresa solution. That anything can be done ifwe put our minds to it. Turn gas to liquidsto create a cleaner burning alternativeto diesel? Difficult, but not impossible.Make coal burn as cleanly as natural gas? With a bit of original thinking, yes.

IN THE NEWENERGY FUTUREEVERYTHINGWILL RUN ONCREATIVITY

WHAT WE DO

We have operations in more than 100countries and we employ around 102,000people worldwide. We are traded on thestock exchanges of Amsterdam, London andNew York. Here are just some of the fastfacts that define us as a global business:

We can process some 4 million barrelsof oil per day.

We have more than 300 distributionfacilities, nearly 2,500 storage tanks and9,000 kilometres of pipeline.

We operate the worlds largest single-branded fuel retail network with some45,000 petrol stations across more than90 countries.

We have the capacity to supply theequivalent of 11 litres of commercial fuelper person on the planet each year.

We provide aviation fuel at over 880airports across some 70 countries, refuelling a plane every 12 seconds.

We run a global fleet of nearly 7,000Shellowned or contracted trucks thatmake a delivery somewhere in theworld every 6 seconds.

We supply 15,000 metric tonnes ofbitumen products for construction everyday to 14,000 customers worldwideallowing us to resurface over 450kmsof road daily.

We provide LPG to around 30 millionend customers via 3,500 distributorsand 100,000 points of sale located in30 countries.

We supply a range of marine fuels andlubricants to vessels ranging from largeocean-going tankers to small fishing boatsin ports worldwide.

We develop pioneering products toprovide innovative uses for sulphurby-product including road applications, enhanced fertilisers and concrete.

We support 30,000 Business to Businessretail and lubricants customers worldwidethrough some 1,500 Customer Ser viceprofessionals in 35 countries.

We make and sell more than 3,000different lubricants for sectors as diverseas automotive, food processing andpower generation across 120 countries.

Through our shareholding in one ofCanadas largest oil sands developers,we extract and develop bitumen toproduce synthetic crude oil for use asrefinery feedstocks.

Our strategy and priorities for the futureare more upstream and profitabledownstream. Upstream refers to the wayswe find and extract conventional fuel out ofthe ground, while downstream refers tothe process of passing these fuels throughto refineries and on to consumers, in bothinstances in a socially responsible way.

We believe that for many decades to comethe world will need to rely on oil and gasfor economic development. Thats why weare looking for ambitious graduates to helpus develop new ways of making use ofwhat weve got now and in the future.
