Hello Stallion Families,

We are quickly making our descent toward the last few weeks of the 2019-2020 school. Wow, it is beena ride! As our district, state, nation and world continue to address the challenges presented by theresponse to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are poised and will continue to Engage, Empower, and InspireEach Student, Each Day “The South Pointe Way.”

Now with all schools in South Carolina closed for the remainder of the school year, our sights are set to�nish the school year strong and in the South Pointe Way! To ensure we have a successful end of theyear, plans have been developed to include end of the year schedule and processes.

As shared last week, graduation ceremony for seniors will be held on Friday, June 5th, at 9:00 A.M. atDistrict South Stadium. Limited seating of two (2) guest tickets per graduate will be allowed. Theceremony will be live streamed so that family, friends, and loved ones will be able to witness theceremony as well. Special graduation ceremony information will be sent to graduates and parents onMay 28th, to include information about parking, tickets, graduation expectations for guest, and seniorgraduation ceremony packet pick up at SPHS on June 2nd from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

As a reminder, seniors last day of school is May 15th. Senior grades will be �nalized on May 22nd andthe 2020 graduating class will be con�rmed on May 27th. Ninth through eleventh graders last day ofschool is June 3rd. IMPORTANT academic schedule information, work packet drop, sports uniform,and laptop drop off, and credit/content recovery, �nes/fees/refunds are all included in this newsletter.

Lastly, please be sure to review the end of the year events and activities schedule in this newsletter tostay informed on the many virtual events and activities still going on. Continue to check the school’swebsite and following us on twitter @SPHSstallions for up to date information.

Are you joining the Military??

SDE Military Recognition CeremonyThe SC Department of Education is again recognizing those seniorswho have chosen to serve their country by enlisting in the UnitedStates Armed Services or attending one of our distinguished militaryservice academies. Due to restrictions placed on Fort Jackson andsocial distancing requirements the in person recognition ceremonywill not be held. Instead, an online recognition ceremony will be airedon May 28th.

If you have enlisted in the Armed Services or are planning to attend amilitary service academy please email Ms. Williams(lswilliams@rhmail.org) so she can provide you with the submissiondetails for the ceremony.

Seniors are eligible for On Pointe recognition based on "Living the South Pointe Way" and exhibiting ourICE characteristics. Please complete the following information and return to Mrs. Kramer or Mrs.Williams by May 20th.

Senior Athletics Information

We have a few things going on during the week of May 18 to recognize our athletes on our websitesand social media. It starts with the senior spring athletes being honored May 18-21. On May 22 we willhave our spring signing day for those signing a National Letter of Intent to play sports in college. Wewill also be posting our list of 2020 Scholar Athletes on May 21.

Any senior who has signed or will be signing to play in college need to contact the athletic departmentby emailing me at ahare@rhmail.org and I can get the information to you about signing day.

Information for Fees and Fines

OUTSTANDING FEES/FINES:If your student has any current or outstanding �nes or fees, they must be paid by the designateddeadline listed below. All payments can be made by check or by online payment. Checks need to

include the student name in the memo section, and a valid phone number. Invoices will be sent outregarding what fees are owed. If you student has a SOY (Start of year) balance, this is a fee that wasowed from prior year and has now rolled over and accumulated into one fee. If you have questionsabout a SOY balance, please email Mrs. McAteer (rmcateer@rhmail.org)

All payments must be CHECK or ONLINE. No cash will be accepted.

Mail payments to South Pointe High School, Attn: Book Keeper, 801 Neely Road, Rock Hill SC 29730.Please include the student name and what the fee is that is being paid.
