Instructions
• Read the topic on revolution (the 360 rotation of the earth on its axis) and complete activity 2 in your
Geography workbook
TASK 2 Seasons
Instructions
• Follow this link to watch the video on YouTube demonstrating how the rotation of the earth causes
different seasons.
• Read the notes on seasons and answer activity 3 in your geography book.
Plenary Activity:
Write a paragraph of no more than FIVE lines explaining what you have noticed with the different
seasons. Include the lengths of the evenings, days, temperature etc.
Homework:
In preparation to Unit 2 of South African climate. Collect the average summer temperature and the
average winter temperature for the all nine provinces.
After collecting your data, compile a report explaining how the temperatures of each province can be
linked to the distance from the equator.
