This arrangement provides great flexibility and many performance opportunities. The piece can feature all the violins or just two soloists. A third violin part is included to be used by the sections behind soloists. The solo part has been incorporated into the first violin part and the first violin part into the second. The concerto is typical of Vivaldi, with driving sixteenth notes in scalar passages and in duets of thirds. The terraced dynamics listed in the score are interpreted, but excitement may be added to the piece with crescendos on rising sixteenth note passages. The lower strings should be light and crisp, especially in eighth note passages.
