ArchitectureDiscover the world of architecture in this class taught by local professional architects. You will learn about basic analysis, design vocabulary, two- and three-dimensional design concepts, famous architectural structures, basic shapes, positive and negative space, special concepts, historical buildings, and a possible site visit.

Become a Financial WizChildren will learn the value of a dollar, how to earn, save, and plan for future purchases. They will learn how to become financial wizards, giving them insight on how to create their own responsible financial plan.

Build Your Own BusinessDo you dream of owning your own business and being your own boss? Apply mathematical reasoning to operate a successful business using Microsoft Word and Excel. Beginner Spanish 1A–All New!Students will be exposed to both the spoken and written forms of the Spanish language. They will begin to understand and to speak basic level Spanish as a medium of communication through solid vocabulary, grammar, and precise pronunciation. This course is followed by Spanish 1B in the Fall 2019 semester that will continue to expand upon the knowledge gained this session and include more in depth written and verbal communication and an understanding of the Spanish culture. Note: Students are required to bring a notebook, pens/pencils, and Spanish/English dictionary to class.

American Sign Language American Sign Language (ASL) is the third most widely used language in the United States. It is a visual-gestural-kinesthetic method of communication used by members of the deaf community. In this beginner class students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar of ASL and will begin to develop the necessary communication skills to interact with people who are deaf. Students who have completed a semester of Sign Language may join the intermediate class.

NYS ELA/Math Test Prep Grades 4–8 NYS ELA/Math Test Prep and TutoringThe New York State English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics tests are required assessments administered in the spring for students in grades 3 through 8. Our program is designed to adhere to the Common Core State Standards (soon to be Next Generation State Standards) on which tests will be based. Both courses are taught by NYS licensed and certified teachers in the subject areas being taught. These test preparation classes will include: access to common core grade level practice materials, introduction to associated skills and strategies for test taking, test format familiarization, test taking tips, reinforcement lessons and guided practice. Special Note: ELA State Test administered in schools 4/2 to 4/4 and Math State Test administered in schools 5/1 to 5/3.) Register for both ELA and Math and receive a discount.

High School Internship ProgramThis program provides students an opportunity to earn community service hours needed to fulfill graduation, National Honor Society and other club requirements. As an intern in our Lifelong Learning youth programs, you will be exposed to an educational environment where you will have the opportunity to work alongside teaching professionals. All programs are subject to cancellation by Wagner College due to low enrollment. Cancellations made by students are subject to a $50 cancellation fee for each class cancelled. No cancellations or refunds will be given after class has begun. Program Cancellation All programs are subject to cancellation by Wagner College due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation by Wagner College, you will receive a full refund. Once a program has begun, no refunds will be issued. Any cancellations made by students prior to class start date will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee per student per program.

Theatre Ages 4 to 17

ACT (Actor Children’s Theatre) at Wagner CollegeThe ACT program at Wagner College continually receives high praises in all program categories from parents and young actors. Give children the opportunity to explore his/her inner self and express ideas through the art of drama. There are a variety of classes for aspiring actors of all ages with an opportunity to be cast in our annual production on the Wagner Main Stage.

ACT–Introduction to TheatreStudents will be introduced to our “triple-threat” theatre program which encompasses acting, musical performance, and movement. Through theatre games and improvisations, students will develop performance skills as well as useful life, presentation, and social skills.

ACT Pre-K TheatreOur youngest actors will not only learn the basics of the craft of acting, but also life skills including empathy, communication, focus, and the ability to form empowering relationships with their fellow actors. This is a great class for socializing and fostering a love for theatre while learning from a variety of theatre games, basic movement/dance skills, singing, and brief monologue study.

ACT Character Study and Dance for Musical TheatreActors will be assigned select scenes from popular musical theatre shows and will be coached on how to develop the character and learn dance steps required to perform each scene. Adult Theatre Program –All NewAre you looking to rekindle an old love of acting or to improve your technique? Improvisations, monologues, and scene studies will be introduced, with an emphasis on improving acting and audition prep. Each week will build on the triple threat actor’s technique in areas of acting, musical performance, and movement working with our professional instructors.

STEM ProgramsAges 6 to 17

We are committed to offering children an opportunity to explore and enhance his/her skills in the increasingly important STEM subject areas in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. In a technology based world, early exposure to and reinforcement of these disciplines is advantageous to children’s academic success. We invite children to explore one or all of our STEM programs listed below this semester.

C.S.I. (Children’s Science Institute)Explore the most puzzling scientific questions and draw scientific conclusions at the Children’s Science Institute at Wagner College. The program is completely hands-on with experiments that will make science come alive for the science enthusiast. Each week students will investigate and experiment with a different scientific principle, and there will be several take homes throughout the semester.

Mystery Forensics InvestigationUtilizing real world forensic science methods including fingerprint verification, fiber and liquid analysis and more, our investigative sleuths will work together to solve a puzzling mystery while employing critical thinking skills and team work. We will explore chromotyping and simulated blood typing, all while working together to unravel a most mysterious forensics event. There will be several take homes for our sleuths to show off their newfound investigative skills!

Chemistry for KidsWhile investigating chemical reactions, students will learn about how new substances are formed and engineer experiments to cause different physical and chemical changes. Get ready to be super hands on with a new experiment each week making substances like slime, silly putty, chalk and more. Best of all, there will be many take homes to show you are a budding scientist. Bring a smock or old shirt, and don’t be afraid to get messy!

LEGO® Robotics Come and join us as we combine technology and engineering skills in order to accomplish LEGO Robotics missions. Our STEM program combines technology and engineering skills in order to accomplish LEGO Robotics missions using the NXT Bot and the all new EV3 Bot. A strong team effort is required to collaborate in solving problems, building, testing, and programming machines and thinking like scientists and engineers in the process. At the end of the session, Lego Teams will compete in a Battle Bots tournament for family and friends. This program is geared toward children on both an intermediate and advanced level.

“WeDo 2.0” Lego Robotics*Join this all new next generation of Lego WeDo Robotics! WeDo 2.0 project-based activities ignite students’ curiosity while enhancing their skills in science, technology, engineering and coding. Working in teams, children build confidence while navigating through life, physical, earth, and space sciences. The new hardware, software and wireless platform includes a Bluetooth low-energy Smarthub element, bringing the most up-to-date technological advancements to the experience. Students will build a Lego robot to investigate real-world science issues, learn programming skills to put their robot in motion and free-build to model the “environment” under investigation.

“WeDo” LEGO Robotics*Using special WeDo LEGO® Education Kits, kids learn hands-on about mechanical engineering, structural design, and introductory robotics. Working in teams, children will build their robots, discover scientific principles, and using laptops learn how to program their creations to move and make sounds. There will

be “free-build” time when kids will become true “Imagineers,” using their creativity and problem solving skills. Parents and friends are invited for a demonstration on the final day.

Planetarium Shows for GroupsDid you know that Wagner College is home to the only Planetarium on Staten Island and was recently renovated and upgraded with state of the art equipment that provides an educational resource for students in grades K-12? Gather your group of 10 or more during school breaks and experience the world of astronomy!

Computer TechnologyAges 8 to 17

Junior Video Game DesignWorking in age appropriate software programs including Scratch, we will create an action adventure video game, while learning the tools and techniques of designing and building their very own unique video game. Students will be tasked to explore problem-solving techniques and story concepts while incorporating art and graphics as part of successful game design. Special Note: Students must bring a flash drive to all classes in order to save their work along with earbuds or headphones and notebook.

Introduction to Computer Programming–All New!In this all new course students will develop logical reasoning and computer programming skills using the VBA language. We will cover variables, constants and data types; structures, arrays and collections; operators, arithmetic, comparison, logical and concatenation; and more. Students will learn fundamental object-oriented programming concepts, algorithms, and techniques. The course is a strong introduction to the world of coding and is a must for anyone interested in advancing their knowledge base.

Digital Art Design Digital art combines natural creativity with learned technological skills to create logos, websites, movie posters, magazines, and more. Students will examine principles of design and utilize various professional applications including Photoshop. Exploring modern media through hands-on projects, this class will prove that screen time can help design young students’ futures. Special Notes: Students must bring a flash drive to class. Digital Photography & PhotoshopLearn different photography techniques and how to view, edit, and enhance your photos using Photoshop. Discover how to capture emotion, use the effect of color, produce quality portraits, and much more. There will also be a focus on experimental, creative techniques as well as technical aspects such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc. Special Notes: Students must bring their own digital camera and flash drive to class.

Junior Virtual Reality 360 Film MakingEmbark on an adventure in virtual reality! In this cutting edge class, students learn the foundations of VR and 360 immersive film making through hands-on lessons, exploring VR films, and creating their own 360 film. Students will gain an understanding of the technology behind Virtual Reality, get familiar with the 360 camera landscape, the concept of immersive storytelling, and an overview of the 360 filmmaking process. Students will work in teams to make their own 360 films. Specific focus will be given to genre, and storytelling techniques as it pertains to augmented reality film making.

Virtual Reality 360 Film Making Teens In this cutting edge course, students learn the process of VR and 360 immersive film making through hands-on lessons. Art Around the WorldDraw, paint, and create multi-media, multi-cultural art projects while learning the styles and techniques of the world’s greatest artists. Students will learn to express themselves through various art foundations with an emphasis on interdisciplinary connections. We will explore art techniques and styles from around the globe and create unique multicultural projects that will foster a greater understanding of diversity in art. Bring a smock or old shirt and be prepared to tap your inner creative talents!

There is an emphasis on STEM literacy skill development with art connections in a fun and supportive environment. Students make new friends through collaboration. Theatre Ages 4 to 17

ACT (Actor Children’s Theatre) at Wagner CollegeThe ACT program at Wagner College continually receives high praises in all program categories from parents and young actors. Give children the opportunity to explore his/her inner self and express ideas through the art of drama. There are a variety of classes for aspiring actors of all ages with an opportunity to be cast in our annual production on the Wagner Main Stage.

ACT–Introduction to TheatreStudents will be introduced to our “triple-threat” theatre program which encompasses acting, musical performance, and movement. Through theatre games and improvisations, students will develop performance skills as well as useful life, presentation, and social skills.

ACT Pre-K TheatreOur youngest actors will not only learn the basics of the craft of acting, but also life skills including empathy, communication, focus, and the ability to form empowering relationships with their fellow actors. This is a great class for socializing and fostering a love for theatre while learning from a variety of theatre games, basic movement/dance skills, singing, and brief monologue study.

ACT Character Study and Dance for Musical TheatreActors will be assigned select scenes from popular musical theatre shows and will be coached on how to develop the character and learn dance steps required to perform each scene. Adult Theatre Program –All NewAre you looking to rekindle an old love of acting or to improve your technique? Improvisations, monologues, and scene studies will be introduced, with an emphasis on improving acting and audition prep. Each week will build on the triple threat actor’s technique in areas of acting, musical performance, and movement working with our professional instructors.

We are committed to offering children an opportunity to explore and enhance his/her skills in the increasingly important STEM subject areas in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. In a technology based world, early exposure to and reinforcement of these disciplines is advantageous to children’s academic success. We invite children to explore one or all of our STEM programs listed below this semester.

C.S.I. (Children’s Science Institute)Explore the most puzzling scientific questions and draw scientific conclusions at the Children’s Science Institute at Wagner College. The program is completely hands-on with experiments that will make science come alive for the science enthusiast. Each week students will investigate and experiment with a different scientific principle, and there will be several take homes throughout the semester.

Mystery Forensics InvestigationUtilizing real world forensic science methods including fingerprint verification, fiber and liquid analysis and more, our investigative sleuths will work together to solve a puzzling mystery while employing critical thinking skills and team work. We will explore chromotyping and simulated blood typing, all while working together to unravel a most mysterious forensics event. There will be several take homes for our sleuths to show off their newfound investigative skills!

Chemistry for KidsWhile investigating chemical reactions, students will learn about how new substances are formed and engineer experiments to cause different physical and chemical changes. Get ready to be super hands on with a new experiment each week making substances like slime, silly putty, chalk and more. Best of all, there will be many take homes to show you are a budding scientist. Bring a smock or old shirt, and don’t be afraid to get messy!

LEGO® Robotics Come and join us as we combine technology and engineering skills in order to accomplish LEGO Robotics missions. Our STEM program combines technology and engineering skills in order to accomplish LEGO Robotics missions using the NXT Bot and the all new EV3 Bot. A strong team effort is required to collaborate in solving problems, building, testing, and programming machines and thinking like scientists and engineers in the process. At the end of the session, Lego Teams will compete in a Battle Bots tournament for family and friends. This program is geared toward children on both an intermediate and advanced level.

“WeDo 2.0” Lego Robotics*Join this all new next generation of Lego WeDo Robotics! WeDo 2.0 project-based activities ignite students’ curiosity while enhancing their skills in science, technology, engineering and coding. Working in teams, children build confidence while navigating through life, physical, earth, and space sciences. The new hardware, software and wireless platform includes a Bluetooth low-energy Smarthub element, bringing the most up-to-date technological advancements to the experience. Students will build a Lego robot to investigate real-world science issues, learn programming skills to put their robot in motion and free-build to model the “environment” under investigation.

“WeDo” LEGO Robotics*Using special WeDo LEGO® Education Kits, kids learn hands-on about mechanical engineering, structural design, and introductory robotics. Working in teams, children will build their robots, discover scientific principles, and using laptops learn how to program their creations to move and make sounds. There will

be “free-build” time when kids will become true “Imagineers,” using their creativity and problem solving skills. Parents and friends are invited for a demonstration on the final day.

Planetarium Shows for GroupsDid you know that Wagner College is home to the only Planetarium on Staten Island and was recently renovated and upgraded with state of the art equipment that provides an educational resource for students in grades K-12? Junior Video Game DesignWorking in age appropriate software programs including Scratch, we will create an action adventure video game, while learning the tools and techniques of designing and building their very own unique video game. Students will be tasked to explore problem-solving techniques and story concepts while incorporating art and graphics as part of successful game design. Special Note: Students must bring a flash drive to all classes in order to save their work along with earbuds or headphones and notebook.

Introduction to Computer Programming–All New!In this all new course students will develop logical reasoning and computer programming skills using the VBA language. We will cover variables, constants and data types; structures, arrays and collections; operators, arithmetic, comparison, logical and concatenation; and more. Students will learn fundamental object-oriented programming concepts, algorithms, and techniques. The course is a strong introduction to the world of coding and is a must for anyone interested in advancing their knowledge base.

Digital Art Design Digital art combines natural creativity with learned technological skills to create logos, websites, movie posters, magazines, and more. Exploring modern media through hands-on projects, this class will prove that screen time can help design young students’ futures. Special Notes: Students must bring a flash drive to class. Digital Photography & PhotoshopLearn different photography techniques and how to view, edit, and enhance your photos using Photoshop. Discover how to capture emotion, use the effect of color, produce quality portraits, and much more. There will also be a focus on experimental, creative techniques as well as technical aspects such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc. Special Notes: Students must bring their own digital camera and flash drive to class.

Junior Virtual Reality 360 Film MakingEmbark on an adventure in virtual reality! In this cutting edge class, students learn the foundations of VR and 360 immersive film making through hands-on lessons, exploring VR films, and creating their own 360 film. Students will gain an understanding of the technology behind Virtual Reality, get familiar with the 360 camera landscape, the concept of immersive storytelling, and an overview of the 360 filmmaking process. We will explore art techniques and styles from around the globe and create unique multicultural projects that will foster a greater understanding of diversity in art. STEAM–Science Technology Engineering Art Math–All New!Interdisciplinary learning engages multiple intelligences for children. There is an emphasis on STEM literacy skill development with art connections in a fun and supportive environment. Students make new friends through collaboration. Theatre Ages 4 to 17

ACT (Actor Children’s Theatre) at Wagner CollegeThe ACT program at Wagner College continually receives high praises in all program categories from parents and young actors. Give children the opportunity to explore his/her inner self and express ideas through the art of drama. There are a variety of classes for aspiring actors of all ages with an opportunity to be cast in our annual production on the Wagner Main Stage.

We are committed to offering children an opportunity to explore and enhance his/her skills in the increasingly important STEM subject areas in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. In a technology based world, early exposure to and reinforcement of these disciplines is advantageous to children’s academic success. We invite children to explore one or all of our STEM programs listed below this semester.

C.S.I. (Children’s Science Institute)Explore the most puzzling scientific questions and draw scientific conclusions at the Children’s Science Institute at Wagner College. The program is completely hands-on with experiments that will make science come alive for the science enthusiast. Each week students will investigate and experiment with a different scientific principle, and there will be several take homes throughout the semester.

Mystery Forensics InvestigationUtilizing real world forensic science methods including fingerprint verification, fiber and liquid analysis and more, our investigative sleuths will work together to solve a puzzling mystery while employing critical thinking skills and team work. We will explore chromotyping and simulated blood typing, all while working together to unravel a most mysterious forensics event. There will be several take homes for our sleuths to show off their newfound investigative skills!

Chemistry for KidsWhile investigating chemical reactions, students will learn about how new substances are formed and engineer experiments to cause different physical and chemical changes. Get ready to be super hands on with a new experiment each week making substances like slime, silly putty, chalk and more. Best of all, there will be many take homes to show you are a budding scientist. Bring a smock or old shirt, and don’t be afraid to get messy!

LEGO® Robotics Come and join us as we combine technology and engineering skills in order to accomplish LEGO Robotics missions. Our STEM program combines technology and engineering skills in order to accomplish LEGO Robotics missions using the NXT Bot and the all new EV3 Bot. A strong team effort is required to collaborate in solving problems, building, testing, and programming machines and thinking like scientists and engineers in the process. At the end of the session, Lego Teams will compete in a Battle Bots tournament for family and friends. This program is geared toward children on both an intermediate and advanced level.

“WeDo 2.0” Lego Robotics*Join this all new next generation of Lego WeDo Robotics! WeDo 2.0 project-based activities ignite students’ curiosity while enhancing their skills in science, technology, engineering and coding. Working in teams, children build confidence while navigating through life, physical, earth, and space sciences. The new hardware, software and wireless platform includes a Bluetooth low-energy Smarthub element, bringing the most up-to-date technological advancements to the experience. Students will build a Lego robot to investigate real-world science issues, learn programming skills to put their robot in motion and free-build to model the “environment” under investigation.

“WeDo” LEGO Robotics*Using special WeDo LEGO® Education Kits, kids learn hands-on about mechanical engineering, structural design, and introductory robotics. be “free-build” time when kids will become true “Imagineers,” using their creativity and problem solving skills. Parents and friends are invited for a demonstration on the final day.

Junior Video Game DesignWorking in age appropriate software programs including Scratch, we will create an action adventure video game, while learning the tools and techniques of designing and building their very own unique video game. Students will be tasked to explore problem-solving techniques and story concepts while incorporating art and graphics as part of successful game design. Special Note: Students must bring a flash drive to all classes in order to save their work along with earbuds or headphones and notebook.

Introduction to Computer Programming–All New!In this all new course students will develop logical reasoning and computer programming skills using the VBA language. Students will learn fundamental object-oriented programming concepts, algorithms, and techniques. The course is a strong introduction to the world of coding and is a must for anyone interested in advancing their knowledge base.

Beginner Spanish 1A–All New!Students will be exposed to both the spoken and written forms of the Spanish language. They will begin to understand and to speak basic level Spanish as a medium of communication through solid vocabulary, grammar, and precise pronunciation. This course is followed by Spanish 1B in the Fall 2019 semester that will continue to expand upon the knowledge gained this session and include more in depth written and verbal communication and an understanding of the Spanish culture. American Sign Language American Sign Language (ASL) is the third most widely used language in the United States. It is a visual-gestural-kinesthetic method of communication used by members of the deaf community. In this beginner class students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar of ASL and will begin to develop the necessary communication skills to interact with people who are deaf. Students who have completed a semester of Sign Language may join the intermediate class.

NYS ELA/Math Test Prep Grades 4–8 NYS ELA/Math Test Prep and TutoringThe New York State English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics tests are required assessments administered in the spring for students in grades 3 through 8. Our program is designed to adhere to the Common Core State Standards (soon to be Next Generation State Standards) on which tests will be based. Both courses are taught by NYS licensed and certified teachers in the subject areas being taught. These test preparation classes will include: access to common core grade level practice materials, introduction to associated skills and strategies for test taking, test format familiarization, test taking tips, reinforcement lessons and guided practice. Special Note: ELA State Test administered in schools 4/2 to 4/4 and Math State Test administered in schools 5/1 to 5/3.) Register for both ELA and Math and receive a discount.

American Sign Language American Sign Language (ASL) is the third most widely used language in the United States. It is a visual-gestural-kinesthetic method of communication used by members of the deaf community. Students who have completed a semester of Sign Language may join the intermediate class.

NYS ELA/Math Test Prep Grades 4–8 NYS ELA/Math Test Prep and TutoringThe New York State English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics tests are required assessments administered in the spring for students in grades 3 through 8. Our program is designed to adhere to the Common Core State Standards (soon to be Next Generation State Standards) on which tests will be based. Both courses are taught by NYS licensed and certified teachers in the subject areas being taught. These test preparation classes will include: access to common core grade level practice materials, introduction to associated skills and strategies for test taking, test format familiarization, test taking tips, reinforcement lessons and guided practice. Theatre Ages 4 to 17

ACT (Actor Children’s Theatre) at Wagner CollegeThe ACT program at Wagner College continually receives high praises in all program categories from parents and young actors. Give children the opportunity to explore his/her inner self and express ideas through the art of drama. There are a variety of classes for aspiring actors of all ages with an opportunity to be cast in our annual production on the Wagner Main Stage.

ACT Pre-K TheatreOur youngest actors will not only learn the basics of the craft of acting, but also life skills including empathy, communication, focus, and the ability to form empowering relationships with their fellow actors. This is a great class for socializing and fostering a love for theatre while learning from a variety of theatre games, basic movement/dance skills, singing, and brief monologue study.

Adult Theatre Program –All NewAre you looking to rekindle an old love of acting or to improve your technique? We are committed to offering children an opportunity to explore and enhance his/her skills in the increasingly important STEM subject areas in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. In a technology based world, early exposure to and reinforcement of these disciplines is advantageous to children’s academic success. We invite children to explore one or all of our STEM programs listed below this semester.

C.S.I. (Children’s Science Institute)Explore the most puzzling scientific questions and draw scientific conclusions at the Children’s Science Institute at Wagner College. The program is completely hands-on with experiments that will make science come alive for the science enthusiast. Each week students will investigate and experiment with a different scientific principle, and there will be several take homes throughout the semester.

Mystery Forensics InvestigationUtilizing real world forensic science methods including fingerprint verification, fiber and liquid analysis and more, our investigative sleuths will work together to solve a puzzling mystery while employing critical thinking skills and team work. We will explore chromotyping and simulated blood typing, all while working together to unravel a most mysterious forensics event. There will be several take homes for our sleuths to show off their newfound investigative skills!

Chemistry for KidsWhile investigating chemical reactions, students will learn about how new substances are formed and engineer experiments to cause different physical and chemical changes. Get ready to be super hands on with a new experiment each week making substances like slime, silly putty, chalk and more. Best of all, there will be many take homes to show you are a budding scientist. Bring a smock or old shirt, and don’t be afraid to get messy!

LEGO® Robotics Come and join us as we combine technology and engineering skills in order to accomplish LEGO Robotics missions. Our STEM program combines technology and engineering skills in order to accomplish LEGO Robotics missions using the NXT Bot and the all new EV3 Bot. A strong team effort is required to collaborate in solving problems, building, testing, and programming machines and thinking like scientists and engineers in the process. At the end of the session, Lego Teams will compete in a Battle Bots tournament for family and friends. This program is geared toward children on both an intermediate and advanced level.

“WeDo 2.0” Lego Robotics*Join this all new next generation of Lego WeDo Robotics! WeDo 2.0 project-based activities ignite students’ curiosity while enhancing their skills in science, technology, engineering and coding. Working in teams, children build confidence while navigating through life, physical, earth, and space sciences. The new hardware, software and wireless platform includes a Bluetooth low-energy Smarthub element, bringing the most up-to-date technological advancements to the experience. Students will build a Lego robot to investigate real-world science issues, learn programming skills to put their robot in motion and free-build to model the “environment” under investigation.

“WeDo” LEGO Robotics*Using special WeDo LEGO® Education Kits, kids learn hands-on about mechanical engineering, structural design, and introductory robotics. Working in teams, children will build their robots, discover scientific principles, and using laptops learn how to program their creations to move and make sounds. There will

be “free-build” time when kids will become true “Imagineers,” using their creativity and problem solving skills. Parents and friends are invited for a demonstration on the final day.

Junior Video Game DesignWorking in age appropriate software programs including Scratch, we will create an action adventure video game, while learning the tools and techniques of designing and building their very own unique video game. Students will be tasked to explore problem-solving techniques and story concepts while incorporating art and graphics as part of successful game design. Special Note: Students must bring a flash drive to all classes in order to save their work along with earbuds or headphones and notebook.

Introduction to Computer Programming–All New!In this all new course students will develop logical reasoning and computer programming skills using the VBA language. We will cover variables, constants and data types; structures, arrays and collections; operators, arithmetic, comparison, logical and concatenation; and more. Students will learn fundamental object-oriented programming concepts, algorithms, and techniques. The course is a strong introduction to the world of coding and is a must for anyone interested in advancing their knowledge base.

Digital Art Design Digital art combines natural creativity with learned technological skills to create logos, websites, movie posters, magazines, and more. Digital Photography & PhotoshopLearn different photography techniques and how to view, edit, and enhance your photos using Photoshop. Discover how to capture emotion, use the effect of color, produce quality portraits, and much more. There will also be a focus on experimental, creative techniques as well as technical aspects such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc. Special Notes: Students must bring their own digital camera and flash drive to class.

Junior Virtual Reality 360 Film MakingEmbark on an adventure in virtual reality! In this cutting edge class, students learn the foundations of VR and 360 immersive film making through hands-on lessons, exploring VR films, and creating their own 360 film. Beginner Spanish 1A–All New!Students will be exposed to both the spoken and written forms of the Spanish language. They will begin to understand and to speak basic level Spanish as a medium of communication through solid vocabulary, grammar, and precise pronunciation. This course is followed by Spanish 1B in the Fall 2019 semester that will continue to expand upon the knowledge gained this session and include more in depth written and verbal communication and an understanding of the Spanish culture. Note: Students are required to bring a notebook, pens/pencils, and Spanish/English dictionary to class.

American Sign Language American Sign Language (ASL) is the third most widely used language in the United States. It is a visual-gestural-kinesthetic method of communication used by members of the deaf community. In this beginner class students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar of ASL and will begin to develop the necessary communication skills to interact with people who are deaf. Students who have completed a semester of Sign Language may join the intermediate class.

NYS ELA/Math Test Prep Grades 4–8 NYS ELA/Math Test Prep and TutoringThe New York State English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics tests are required assessments administered in the spring for students in grades 3 through 8. Our program is designed to adhere to the Common Core State Standards (soon to be Next Generation State Standards) on which tests will be based. Both courses are taught by NYS licensed and certified teachers in the subject areas being taught. These test preparation classes will include: access to common core grade level practice materials, introduction to associated skills and strategies for test taking, test format familiarization, test taking tips, reinforcement lessons and guided practice. Special Note: ELA State Test administered in schools 4/2 to 4/4 and Math State Test administered in schools 5/1 to 5/3.) Register for both ELA and Math and receive a discount.

High School Internship ProgramThis program provides students an opportunity to earn community service hours needed to fulfill graduation, National Honor Society and other club requirements. Program Cancellation All programs are subject to cancellation by Wagner College due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation by Wagner College, you will receive a full refund. Once a program has begun, no refunds will be issued. Any cancellations made by students prior to class start date will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee per student per program.
