Reference Files With the end of the semester in sight, it is time to make sure that you have your reference files complete! Make sure that you have all of your references from professors in order so that they can be entered into your reference file in time! Ca-reer Planning has forms for you to give the individual that will be writing your reference letter. Commencement This year’s Master’s Ceremony will be held Saturday, May 18 in the Hosmer Concert Hall. For more information re-

garding Commencement, please visit the webpage http://www.potsdam.edu/current/commencement/Students can find

information about cap and gowns, special events and the Commencement day schedule. Faculty and staff can find infor-

mation on regalia, volunteering and the schedule.

This is the final call for ALL Applications for Degrees for any graduate student who graduated December 2012, who

will be graduating May 2013 and August 2013.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Friday, May 17 • 4 - 6 p.m. - Party In The Plaza - Minerva Plaza

Listen to music, grab a bite to eat and be part of your class photo as the Alumni Association welcomes the Class of 2013 into their ranks. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend the Honors Convocation. Students receiving awards will be notified by their department. Reception immediately following in the lobby of Snell Theater.

Graduate Assistantships Don’t forget to apply for the Graduate Assistantship (GA). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. However the

final deadline is June 30, 2013. If you have any questions about any of the scholarships available, please do not hesitate

to contact Graduate Studies. Please note that some GA applications do have earlier deadlines, see listing below. All ap-

plications are available in Graduate Studies, 116 Satterlee Hall.

Graduate Scholarships

Graduate Diversity Fellowship (GDF) and Graduate Opportunity Program (GOP) scholarships deadline is July 30,

2013. Applications are available in Graduate Studies. Additional scholarships are available through the Financial

Aid Office. Visit the Financial Aid website for further information — http://www.potsdam.edu/admissions/

financial/scholarships/index.cfm. Here, you can find information on campus based scholarships, as well as links to

external scholarships. Ontario College of Teachers Awarding Excellence, come to Graduate Studies for more infor-

mation.

Semester coming to a close Can you believe that there are only fifteen days left of the semester?! Where has the time gone? It seems like just

yesterday that the fall semester started. For those students who are returning for the summer session, we can’t wait

to see you. For those of you who will be graduating, good luck in your future endeavors. We wish you well. Keep

in touch!!
