Graduation 2019
On Monday the 9th Of December the Year 6’s celebrated seven short but glorious years of essential assessments, cha-cha-chas, Russell’s “great” jokes and “Alright, you talk!” Nerida started off the night with inspiring speech to guide us through 2020 and beyond. 6C started speeches of the good old days, and everyone laughed as memories of play make-up to fighting over new students were resurfaced. The dinner was chicken schnitty, followed by 6J and 6R’s round of speeches. Everyone looked fabulous in the spotlight and laughed amongst the neon jungle theme, followed by dessert, which consisted of ice cream and a lolly buffet. After 6S’ speeches came to a wrap, awards were presented to the following students:
Academic Achievement: Sylvie Kerr-Smith & Esther Shapero
Leadership and Citizenship: Henry Lake & Jorgi Holt
Sports: Lachie Dowd and Abbey Tyrrell
Performing Arts: Albie McInnes & Maisie Larionoff
Visual Arts: Eva Goudie & Xavier Naylor
Carr Jones Award: Sara Walker
Principal’s Award: Sophie Tyrrell
After that everyone enjoyed the emotional journey that was the baby slideshow. Everyone danced and sang along on the disco floor.
Then at the very end tears were shared and hugs were had as the night faded away to an end. A night that will remain with us forever.
A massive thank you to Nerida, Rus-sell and the Graduation committee including: Skye Walker, Loretta Ber-lingeri, Jo Cronin, Jo Tyrrell, Caroline Karavias, Vikki Glover, Karyne Mur-phy, Kelly Hammond, Sarah Nguyen, Dave Goudie, Bec Fowler, Cathy Don-nison, Anita Collinson, Fiona Tome, Chrissy Judd, Susan Gair, Clare Thompson and their amazing team.

A big congratulations to all our students for a successful 2019; it has been fantastic to see all students take on so many fantastic learning opportuni-ties here at RPS and continue to work towards their Learning goals. To our departing Year 6’s and other students; you should be proud of the legacy you have left at RPS and we wish you the very best for the next chapters in your learning journey.
A very big thank you to all of our wonderful staff who have done their very best to provide the best educational expe-riences for the children here. It is thanks to their hard work, professionalism and passion that our students continue to learn and grow as members of our community.
We wish all families a safe and happy holidays; we appreciate all your voluntary support you give the school through a variety of many different avenues. From School Council Representatives, to classroom helpers, camps, excur-sions, working bees and the list goes on; our school would not be the same without you all.

CAPTAINS
Dear Richmond Primary community,
We the 2019 school and vice captains, would like to thank you all for the opportunities that you have given us. Like go-ing to visit the refurbished power station and laying down a wreath at the Remembrance Day ceremony at Barkley Gar-dens. We have had a blast running the assemblies, and giv-ing out the certificates. We are all so sad that we have to leave this wonderful school next year, and we will all miss you dearly. Good luck to the future school and vice captains. Thanks.
