    Grander Technology

used for Swimming PoolsGrander Technology has a number of strengths that

pool operators can utilise to their advantage in a vari-

ety of ways. The primary goal is to enhance the qual-

ity of the pool water, in a way that is beneficial to the

    human body.

Where Grander Technologyhas been used, pool usersimmediately feel a notice-

able improvement in the quality ofthe water. Pool water feels soft andsmooth, the sensitivity and burn-ing in the eyes from the chlorinein the water diminishes, skin is lessdehydrated by extended exposure tothe water, the itching felt by manypeople with sensitive skins disap-pears completely, and the body feelsmuch fresher and more relaxed afterswimming in revitalised water.

    The quality criteria

Swimming pools often oper-ate under very different conditionswhen it comes to water preparation.A system analysis by a Grander con-sultant is always necessary to exam-ine the actual on-site condition ofthe current system before the in-stallation of Grander Technology. An appropriate Grander device isrecommended for each pool sys-tem based upon data of the wateranalysis, and the conditions of theindividual pool.

Grander consultants know fromtheir long years of experience howto determine the parameters foroptimum performance in each in-

dividual pool, after the installationof the Grander water revitalizationsystem. Pool operators are then

given detailed advice and writteninstructions on how to achieve thebest long-term effect.

The correct setting of the pH,the reduction of the chlorine con-tent and a sufficient amount offresh water are essential. If the poolis open to the public, all statutoryrequirements must also be met.But the benefit for the pool opera-tor is self-evident. While costs canbe saved through the reductionof chlorine and other chemicals,

a much more significant aspect isthe benefit to swimmers, who areusually surprised and impressedby the water quality and the in-creased pleasure of their swim. Ifthe recommendations made by theGrander consultants are followedabsolutely, this is guaranteed to thebenefit of all users.

    Faistenauer Wellness Oasis

Andreas Teufl and his wife Gabri-ela own the Alte Post Hotel in Faist-enau near Salzburg. This exclusivefamily-run hotel has a long traditionof ensuring the best for their guests.Grander Technology was installed

in the indoor pool in 1999, thenthe area developed to incorporatea separate Grander Wellness Oasis.Since then, Andreas Teufl has con-verted the entire hotel to GranderTechnology, ensuring that guestscan enjoy everything designed topromote their health and wellbe-ing in this romantic and luxurioussetting.

The decision to use GranderTechnology was a direct result offeedback from our guests. Themany positive reports on the Grand-er water in the swimming pool, thesoothing effect, the softness, thepleasant scent all these things ledme to install Grander Technologythroughout the hotel, Teufl ex-plains. He also willingly admits thathe was initially very skeptical towardGrander.

However, he has now experi-enced the positive effects for him-self. I am really surprised but I canno longer drink any other kind ofwater. I take revitalised water alongwith me on vacation, because I canno longer drink normal water, or Idecide where I will take my vaca-tion according to whether the hotelhas Grander water or not. AndreasTeufls whole way of life has beenchanged. When you are in constant

contact with revitalized water, youfeel better, have more energy, morepower for the whole day and canregenerate faster.

Andreas Teufl, owner of theAlte Post Hotel, has con-verted the whole hotel to

    Grander Technology.

Guests can enjoy everythingwhich promotes their well-ness in this romantic setting.

    Unadulterated nature inFinkenberg

Zillertal in Tyrol is one of themost attractive regions of Austria.

Holidaymakers can enjoy a superbholiday here no matter what the timeof year. The Stock family has run a150 bed hotel for 20 years in Fink-enberg in the Zillertal Alps NatureReserve. Barbara and Josef Stock(brother of the Olympic gold me-dalist Leonhard Stock) concentrateon the area of sports and wellbe-ing. They provide a guest-pamper-ing programme that ranges from aswimming pool to sauna world, a

beauty area with beauty, steam andherb baths.

It was the conviction that well-being also depends on the rightquality of water that convinced JosefStock to install Grander Technologysome 10 years ago. At first, he didnot want to invest in a system forthe whole house, but only to installa device for the pond in the garden, which was choking on algae. Whenthe pond water cleared within a veryshort time, Stock decided to install aGrander system for the hotel, includ-ing the swimming pool, in 1997.

    Guests were suddenly very sur-

prised and a little astonished thatthey no longer suffered from thered-eye effect after swimming, thehotel manager remembers. But it wasnot really a surprise the amount of

chemicals in the pool had been re-duced by a third.

I am 100 percent convincedby the effect of Grander Technol-ogy. Revitalised water is availablefor drinking throughout the wholehotel and is used for all treatments, baths and saunas, which is very muchappreciated by the guests.

    Fssen swimming pool

A Grander water revitalisationsystem was installed in the Fssenmunicipal swimming pool aroundfour years ago at the initiative of themunicipal architect, and with thesupport of the then mayor, in spiteof considerable initial resistance. Many critical voices were raised bythose who had no time for GranderTechnology and water revitalisation.A complete waste of money, wasone of the more harmless complaintsthe committed mayor was confront-ed with, but he finally managed toconvince the critics and the systemwas installed.

Hubert Kotte, a senior pool at-tendant in Fssen for more than 30years, manages the swimming teamand the swimming lessons for small

children. Since he spends three tofive hours a day in the water, he wasone of the first to notice the differ-ence after the installation.

The smell of chlorine used tofollow me down to the cellar; now ithas completely disappeared, Kotteremembers. Competitive swimmers, who also spend hours training in thewater, benefit from the fact that theyno longer suffer from painful eye in-flammations, which were otherwisethe inevitable consequence of water

with a high chlorine content. SinceHubert Kotte accompanies his teamall over Germany, he is familiar withnumerous pools and so can see thedifference. In his opinion, there isno other pool that has such goodwater quality as ours, since we in-stalled the Grander water revitaliza-tion system.

    A therapy in revitalised water

Christian Wippel has been apool attendant at the Pchlarnswimming pool in Lower Austria

for three years. Before he startedworking at the pool, he had neverreally thought about the signifi-cance of water. This changed whenhe discovered how much chlorineand other cleaning agents are need-ed to keep the water of a publicswimming pool clean over a longperiod. As with so many watertreatment plants, particularly oldones, it was not easy to keep thewater in the Pchlarn pool clean.

The large pool has 1,500m3 ofwater, the childrens pool 30m3.In August 2001, in the middle ofthe pool season, the filter suddenlystarted to leak. This resulted in thepool being closed.

Since our plant was so old thatit could not be brought up to date,I suggested to my boss, the mayor

of Pchlarn, that we should installa Grander revitalising system,Wippel remembers. The pool wasrenovated early last year in goodtime before the start of the pool

season. The Grander water revi-talization system was installed, aswas a drinking fountain, also usingGrander Technology. Wippel no-ticed how pool visitors made ad-ditional use of the drinking foun-tain. They used to fill up bottlesto take the revitalised water withthem, they loved it so much!

A number of swimmers alsoenthused about the improvementsin their health. One woman toldWippel that her psoriasis had com-pletely disappeared, and many peo-

ple said how pleasant it was to nolonger have to smell the chlorine, while the painter Franz Knapp, whohad suffered a stroke, now comesonly to the Pchlarn pool for histherapeutic water exercises.

    Exceptional pool watermeasurements

The Kalsdorf pool near Graz is an

adventure pool. Like many others, the pool operators want to give theirguests only the very best quality, which explains why the local com-munity, and mayor Helmuth Adam, decided to install a Grander waterrevitalization system. The motiva-tion was to provide our guests withthe very best. This also included theidea of using Grander Technology, which had been praised so much inthe press.

Pool manager Fritz Edelmann haskept a record of important data forthe pool. The pH should be in therange between 6.9 and 7.6 ours isat a constant 7.3. The redox potential(ORP) which provides informationon the water quality, is at 784; thestandard is between 578 and 900. Wenever had values like this before andthey have only become possible withGrander Technology.

    Chemical additives have also been

reduced. Even when we have to doa lot of backwashing of the filterscaused by the stress on the water oflarge number of swimmers, the wa-ter still remains clear and fresh much

longer, the pool manager explains. The swimming pools and also theshowers, the whirlpools, the divingpool and the drinking water for the

restaurant are all using revitalised wa-ter, to the benefit of the customers.

Increasing numbers of poolusers as a consequence ofGrander water

The Tyrolean community of Alp-bach has a commitee which managesits indoor pool. About a year ago,one of the town councilors declaredhis enthusiasm for a Grander waterrevitalisation system. He tried sev-

eral times to convince the pool com-mittee to install such a system in thepublic indoor pool, since it wouldprovide numerous benefits. Whilesome of the councilors remainedsceptical, a unanimous decision wasfinally taken mainly because theywere given a full right of return if,in the end, the committee wasnt

satisfied. This agreement made itpossible to research the effect of the

Grander Technology sufficiently. The installation of the Grandersystem soon become a popular sub-ject of discussion in Alpbach. Manyvisitors only came to test the specialfeatures of the revitalised Granderwater they had heard about. Thisword of mouth promotion resultedin a 15 percent increase in pool us-ers. Swimmers were particularly im-pressed by the silkiness of the wa-ter, and because their skin and eyesdidnt suffer from the usual chlorine

effect of public pools. One regularswimmer claimed that the Grandereffect meant he only needed 39strokes to complete a length, whenpreviously it took him at least 42.

The biting odour of chlorine wasno longer noticeable after a veryshort time the use of chemicalswas also reduced in Alpbach.

The restaurant owner in theswimming pool complex is alsohappy because he gets more cus-

tomers. They drink a lot more cof-fee, he says, than before the instal-lation of the Grander system since

    Mayor Helmuth Adam en-

thusiastically promoted theinstallation of the Granderwater revitalization system.

Adults and children profitequally from the new Grand-

er water quality in the Alp-bach public swimming pool.

it tastes better. And the pots andpans in the kitchen no longer haveto be scrubbed free of limescale, be-cause it no longer accumulates onthe surfaces which saves cleaningtime and money!

    Absolutely environmentallyfriendly

The open-air complex Fontani-vas is in an ideal spot at the edge ofthe woods. It includes a sports pool,a swimming pool, a non-swimmerspool and a childrens pool as well asa large waterslide, and beach volley-

ball courts. The complex was com-

pletely renovated in 1996/1997and equipped with the latest tech-nology. Brigittte Vesti, the presidentof the Swimming Pool Communi-ty of the Ilanz Region, insisted be-fore the open-air pool was modern-ised that it should be an absolutelyenvironmentally friendly pool. Inaddition to installing a solar pow-er system for the regulation of thewater temperature, Grander waterrevitalisation units were installed inthe whole pool area in 2001.

Pool manager Maurus Vinzenzwas astonished. The potential sav-ing in chemical additives alone isaround 40 percent. We used to have

to spend days cleaning the pools inthe spring, but now the work hasreduced considerably even the wa-

terslide no longer has to be cleanedso frequently, since it has hardly anydeposits.

The use of the Grander Tech-nology has had only positive effectsfor our pool, and the feedback fromour guests on the water quality isexcellent, says Brigitte Vesti.
