This grant supports the SBE Priorities and the requirements under IDEA in conducting the regulatory and administrativeactivities. Federal legislation requires each state to report annually on 20 indicators of performance for children ages 3-21receiving special education services. IDEA Part B, Section 611 grant funds provide programs and services for this populationdirectly related to performance on these indicators.

Background/Purpose of Grant Program: This grant provides funding for: a)instructional programs, services, and materials to stt.Kients with disabilities who are 3through 21 years of age; b) regulatory oversite and/or enhancement of existingprograms and services; and c) transition services to 14-21 year old students withdisabilities.

~: This process takes, on average, two weeks from the time the packet with the Office Director's signature on it is
delivered to the Grants Office, until the time the fully signed packet is routed to the person administering the grantprogram. This time varies depending upon the number of co~ons that are necessary and the availability of all of thesigners. It can take longer particularly around holiday times when the signers may be out of the office. Proofread and
plan accordingly.
