Telephones are used for contacting and talking to people far away from us.

- Before the telephone, people had to meet each other to talk to them.

- In the past, people had to wait for weeks or months to receive letters from friends or families in other countries.

Telephones are used for contacting and talking to people far away from us.

- If Alexander Graham Bell didn’t invent the telephone we wouldn’t be able to talk to our friends and family in other countries.

- We wouldn’t be able to call for help if we had problems.

- If there were no telephones, we couldn’t talk to our boyfriends or girlfriends at home or make plans to meet them.
