The Great Passage Storm Sewer Improvement project was substantially completed in May 6, 2014. This project was to provide drainage improvements and mitigate the flood potential in this community. It included installing a headwall structure, yard inlet, and a pedestrian bridge with handrails. Increasing overland relief was achieved by widening the swale, adding the pedestrian bridge and regrading the upstream area. The trash rack installed on the headwall structure will ensure that the maximum amount of flow will enter into the storm sewer system while keeping debris from entering the pipe system. The site was restored with native seeding and a landscaping scheme.
Project Overview:• Cleared and grubbed for access to install the proposed structures• Excavated and installed storm structures (headwall, yard inlet and footbridge structure)• Excavated and graded the swale and adjacent areas to provide positive drainage• Installed handrails on both sides of the footbridge • Restored the adjacent driveway and road which provided construction access• Restored the site with native seeding, mulch, and trees
