Last year, was our first go around at this drill and it was great success. This year we plan to up our plans and help residents and associates be prepared, so when the "big one" does hit we will be ready. Ronn will kick off this event by hosting a lecture the week prior to the ShakeOut. His lecture will focus on the Carlotta Disaster Plan and also the Communities Disaster Response. Great California ShakeOut Exciting new discoveries about eating on time and the timers within our cells, trillions of them, priming our bodies to work efficiently through the changing of the seasons. Science has always been focused on the " What": what drugs we give our bodies to treat diseases, what we eat to lose weight. Up until now, we haven't just underestimated time, we've completely ignored its role. We're now starting to see that when can be just as important to our bodies. Did you know that the keeping our meal intake on a consistent schedule helps our cognitive skills stay healthy to the point where older people perform as well as younger people. We need to remember to follow our schedules and proper diets. Drinking plenty of water in the cooler months is also very important to stay hydrated and process our meals. Path to Well-Being Echo, the newest member of our community would like to share the following: “I am so happy to have found my new home at the Carlotta, I really feel that I have hit the doggy jackpot! Although I’ve only been able to visit during the day this month, it already feels like home. Everyone has been so receptive and welcoming. Here’s a little about me, I’m a Siberian Husky but I’ve never been to Siberia. My vet thinks I am about two years old, but no one is really certain. I was found as a stray in Rancho Mirage and put in ‘puppy prison’ where I stayed for the past two months. I was fortunate to receive an invitation to The Camp Carlotta Barking Lot dedication last month and was certain to be on my best behavior. So much so, that the decision was made to adopt me. I’m available for walks & trips to The Barking Lot anytime I’m here, by letting the front desk know. Thriving

The ShakeOut Drill is

scheduled for 10:18 a.m. on

October 18, 2018. This means

that wherever you are at that

moment you should Drop,

Cover, and Hold On as if there

were a major earthquake

occurring at that very moment, and stay in this position for at least

60 seconds. Last year, was our first go around at this drill and it

was great success. This year we plan to up our plans and help

residents and associates be prepared, so when the "big one" does

hit we will be ready. Ronn will kick off this event by hosting a

lecture the week prior to the ShakeOut. His lecture will focus on

the Carlotta Disaster Plan and also the Communities Disaster

Response. If you are interested in lending a helping hand please

Exciting new discoveries about eating

the seasons. Science has always been

focused on the "What": what drugs we

give our bodies to treat diseases, what

we eat to lose weight. Up until now, we

haven't just underestimated time, we've

completely ignored its role. We're now

starting to see that when can be just as

important to our bodies. Did you know

Path to Well-Being

Echo, the newest member of our community would like to share the

following: “I am so happy to have found my new home at the Carlotta, I

really feel that I have hit the doggy jackpot! Although I’ve only been able

to visit during the day this month, it already feels like home. Everyone has

been so receptive and welcoming. Here’s a little about me, I’m a Siberian

Husky but I’ve never been to Siberia. My vet thinks I am about two years

old, but no one is really certain. I was found as a stray in Rancho Mirage

and put in ‘puppy prison’ where I stayed for the past two months. I was

fortunate to receive an invitation to The Camp Carlotta Barking Lot

dedication last month and was certain to be on my best behavior. So much

so, that the decision was made to adopt me. I’m available for walks & trips

to The Barking Lot anytime I’m here, by letting the front desk know.
