GREAT RIVER OUTING

GEMS ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER TRAIL NOVEMBER 13 When: Sunday, November 13, 2011 Time: 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Begin: Marshall Terrace Park, 2740 Marshall Street NE, Minneapolis 55418

Join a walk with park historian David Smith, Commissioner Liz Wielinski, and Marshall Terrace resident and AFCAC co-facilitator Mary Jamin Maguire to visit three gems on the Mississippi Riverfront: Marshall Terrace, Edgewater, and Gluek parks. We will follow Marshall Street NE, formerly the Red River Oxcart Trail, and now the multi-state Mississippi River Trail. On the route are the Lowry Bridge and the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization headquarters - both currently under construction. As we visit each park, we will discuss their individual histories and show how these gems relate to the Above the Falls and RiverFIRST plans, strategies to complete a continuous riverfront park with walking and biking trails. Afterwards, visit the Sample Room for conversation and treats (on your own).

Visit Minneapolis Riverfront Partnership’s website for more information and to register for this FREE walk!
