AntigoneAfter Oedipus’ death, Antigone’s 2 brothers, Polyneices and Eteocles, are waging war

to decide the new ruler of Thebes. They both die and her other brother, Creon, is

decided to be the new ruler. Creon commands that Eteocles is to be buried and

mourned in his honor, but that Polyneices shouldn’t be buried. Antigone was against

this. She defied the law and buried her brother Polyneices. She was caught by Creon

and was locked away in prison. She kills herself, but no one noticed. The blind prophet,

Teiresias, and her Husband, Haemon, plead to release her. Creon eventually relents

and sees that she is dead. Haemon and Creon’s wife kill themselves in despair. Creon is

Midas

http://www.greeka.com/greece-myths/king-midas.htm

Midas was the king of Phrygia. He was living in luxury with his beloved daughter. Although he was rich, he thought the greatest object in life was gold. Dionysus passed through his kingdom with a satyr named Silenus. Silenus was left behind and got tired, so he took a nap in some rose gardens surrounding the palace of Midas. Midas found him and recognized him instantly and invited him to stay for a couple of days. After that he took Silenus to Dionysus. Dionysus was pleased and offered a wish to Midas. He warned him about the wish for a golden touch, but Midas still went for it. The next day, Midas woke up and started touching everything from pure happiness. However, when he tried to eat an apple, it turned into gold. He has fear. His daughter tried to hug him and turned her into gold. Midas was in absolute regret and prayed to Dionysus to take the curse away. He did so, and Midas lived the rest of his life as a generous man that shared his treasures and was loved by his people. When he died, his whole kingdom mourned his death.
