Hi, my name is Abbie Page and I am the new Panhellenic Advisor for Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at CSU, Chico. My involvement with Chico State began in 2009, as an entering

freshman in undergraduate education and has since developed into strong commitment to all aspects of campus life. I became an active member in Greek Life during the Spring 2010

semester and could not be happier with the opportunities and experiences it presented throughout my collegiate career. Serving as Chapter Vice President of Scholarship,

Chapter President, Panhellenic Recruitment Counselor, and Panhellenic Paraprofessional has encouraged me to continue my involvement by embracing all aspects of the Greek

Community at CSU, Chico. Working closely with other members of Greek Life has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have had as an undergraduate student and I am

looking forward to continuing that involvement for many years. I graduated in May 2014 with my BS in Nutrition and Food Sciences with options in Food Service Administration and General Dietetics. In the upcoming year I hope to give back to the Greek Community by encouraging others to find a similar rewarding experience. I strongly believe that Greeks have the potential to not only impact individual lives but also the community as a whole. Greek Life has empowered me to create positive change and I look forward to inspiring

others in the same way! Please feel free to stop by my office any time. I encourage you all to stop by my office and meet me! I would love to meet as many members of the Greek

community as possible!

Chapter  Spotlight  ALPHA GAMMA DELTA

This summer, the members of Alpha Gamma Delta participated in a variety of volunteer experiences, jobs, and just plain fun! Ranging from Chico, where five of our sisters worked as Summer Orientation Peer Advisors, all the way to Spain and Japan where two of our members had the unique opportunity to work as Camp Adventure Counselors while also getting to experience another culture, Alpha Gams really made the most of our summers. Besides working, some of the leaders of our chapter were also able to attend our international convention where our chapter was awarded the Scholarship Progress Award for 2012-2014. We are all extremely proud of our progress and continued academic success and hope to keep heading in the right direction in the semesters to come. When we weren’t working or learning more about all of the amazing women who are a part of Alpha Gamma Delta internationally, we were focusing on our own sisterhood in Delta Iota. Whether it was making a trip to Disneyland, attending a Giants game or just hanging out, we loved just being with our sisters! Throughout this next semester we

plan to continue focusing on strengthening our sisterhood while rocking our new evergreen jerseys. We look forward to a busy but exciting fall semester!

ALPHA DELTA PI

Alpha Delta Pi is excited to begin this school year! Our sisters had a wonderful summer and two of our members, Brittany Marino and Rio Gardner, were given the opportunity to attend The Adelphean Compass Leadership Seminar in Atlanta, GA. At this conference, our sisters accepted eight awards on behalf of Eta Rho including the Diamond 4 Point Award. We're looking forward to our parent’s weekend in October and our annual Hoops for the House in November. We wish everyone a great semester!

ALPHA OMICRON PI The sisters of the Zeta Theta chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi had a very busy summer! Our Chapter President and VP of Administration attended the Leadership Institute in Nashville and were able to bring back valuable new skills and knowledge to Chico while having the opportunity to visit our International Headquarters! Some of our sisters had their first experience with our philanthropy and joined alumnae from the Greater Sacramento Valley Alumnae chapter at the Walk to Cure Arthritis in Sacramento. Later in the summer, some of our members joined the Reno-Tahoe and Great Sacramento Valley Alumnae in Truckee for a day hike and picnic. Probably one of the more unique events of the summer was when one of our members traveled to Tanzania and met an alumna from the Sigma chapter at UC Berkeley! No matter where our sisters were this summer, they were always showing Alpha Love.

GAMMA PHI BETA

Gamma Phi Beta is excited to be back to school and ready to take on the semester! Over the summer we had several sisters study abroad, one being our House Manager, Aimee Bernadicou. She studied in Italy for five weeks and had an amazing time exploring the country and really enjoyed the different culture! Another sister, Chelsea De Young, worked at a hospital in Tanzania in order to gain experience in nursing in hopes to pursue her future career. As well, our entire Gamma Phi Beta Executive Board was fortunate to attend Gamma Phi Beta's bi-annual convention in Seattle in the beginning of July. It was an amazing experience for all officers attending formal business meetings, workshops and award ceremonies. It was an eye opening experience for all and really broadened our knowledge of Gamma Phi Beta at an international level. Meeting past Gamma Phi Beta's from decades ago as well as current sisters from chapters across the country was one of the best parts! This semester for Gamma Phi Beta is jam packed with Philanthropy, sisterhoods, socials and eventful weekends! This coming weekend we are fortunate to be teaming up with the waking boarding team for a sisterhood. All of our sisters are excited to hit the lake this weekend and enjoy some sisterly bonding time as well as getting out on the tubes and wake boards! As well, we have another pumpkin patch sisterhood planned for the end of October and an ice skating sisterhood in December. We also have the sorority intramural team excited to start our flag football games next Friday! Were always looking forward to friendly competition amongst the other chapters. This semester and the end of September all the sister's dads will be coming up to Chico for dad's weekend. We are more than excited to have them visit the Gamma Phi Beta house and are looking forward to our fun adventurous go karting event that our sister Sara Brown has planned! Although we are excited for all our fun chapter events, we will also be getting ready for recruitment in the Spring, having several practices and getting back into recruitment mode! We have several socials planned out as well as T-shirt dances and formals that we all can't wait to attend! Greek week is another event that all Gamma Phi Beta sisters are looking forward to; we can't wait to see who were paired with! However, with all the fun that Gamma Phi Beta brings, we are still hitting the books hard and in library doing our weekly study hours in hopes to have the highest sorority GPA for the third semester in a row! Lastly, we are going to be running elections throughout November, which is an exciting but hectic time of the year!

LAMBDA THETA NU

Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. is a professional, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of academic excellence and community service within a unit of sisterhood. This year we have already started the academic year strong and kept busy this summer by fundraising for our 14th annual Latina Youth Leadership Conference. This conference is geared towards young Latina women in our community and provides them with workshops focusing on higher education, self-esteem enhancement, leadership, and pride & heritage. This summer we also attended our national conference in Austin, Texas where we focused on professional development and brought back all the new skills we obtained for the success of our chapter. We took advantage of Labor Day weekend and dedicated it to a sisterhood retreat at Lake Francis where we enjoyed s'mores around the bonfire, paddle boarding in the lake and other adventures that brought us even closer. We are ready to make this semester another great one as we achieve academic excellence, community service and sisterhood.

PANHELLENIC COUNCIL Happy Fall Semester! Panhellenic Council is very excited to hit the ground running this semester and even more excited to have Abbie Page as our new Panhellenic Advisor! We know that having Abbie’s guidance will bring our council to the next level and we can’t wait! As we finish out our terms this semester, we are focusing on leaving our mark on our council, chapters and the entire Greek Community. We will be working towards this by focusing on our council first and foremost and fostering Panhellenic sisterhood among our chapters. We are very excited to have added Vice President of Panhellenic Affairs to our board this semester to plan some fun sisterhood events for all Panhellenic women! Even though Formal Recruitment isn’t until next semester, it feels like it is just around the corner. We are all already working hard to promote Greek Life at Chico State and set the groundwork for the best Panhellenic Recruitment that Chico State has ever seen!

SIGMA KAPPA

To kick off our summer break, our President, Vice President, Ritual Chair and Advisory Board attended Sigma Kappa National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. We proudly accepted our award as a two star chapter for the 2013 calendar year. Sigma Kappa, Delta Iota was also honored to accept awards for the Platinum Circle Giving Club, recognitions of outstanding sisterhood, academic achievement. Our advisory and corporation boards also received awards of recognition. One of our members, Megan Ennis, traveled to the Dominican Republic this summer with a dedication to volunteer work with underprivileged children. She worked on nutrition and healthy eating education for children and build homes. In late August, we had our annual sisterhood retreat in Coloma, California. We had so much fun bonding with our new and old members, while enjoying the beautiful and relaxing scenery. This Fall 2014 semester, we are looking forward to our philanthropy Sigma Kapture the Flag to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research, Respect Week in our anti-hazing efforts, and hosting Founder’s Day for surrounding Northern California chapters. Fall semester also brings the excitement of Greek Week, walking to End Alzheimer’s and volunteering on Fridays at local assisted living facility, Windchime.

IFC COUNCIL This year's Chico State Interfraternity Council has picked up where last year's Council has left it and we have hit the ground running. All board members are already excelling with the goals they have set for the semester. We are confident IFC recruitment this semester will not only be the largest in remembrance but will unify the fraternity chapters. Besides recruitment we have set two large-scale achievable goals this semester. We will be fostering a professional environment by updating the Council Bylaws and attaining the North-American Interfraternity Conference recognition. Our recruitment will then bring in the highest caliber men Chico has to offer and to successfully encourage their scholastic and professional development.
