GreenPort is an emerging star in the Indian agri-business infrastructure and
a potential leader in the making. It is being positioned as a global brand
that offers world class infrastructure facilities for the various stakeholders of
the agri-business value chain. In collaboration with ALTERRA, Wageningen,
UR of Netherlands, GreenPort is planning to expand in the area of providing
infrastructure services for Agro Parks across the world.
GreenPort would be establishing Integrated Agro Food Parks in various
locations in South and West of India initially and then set up similar projects
on a pan India basis. We are on course to be a world class agri-business
infrastructure developer and partner with various like minded organizations
to run/manage the various facilities.
Objective :
To establish world class agri-infrastructure like:
Integrated Agro Food Parks
Modern Terminal Markets
Food Processing SEZ
Rural Transformation Centers
GreenPort Agro Food Parks initiative is based on
a unique and innovative Hub and Spokes Model
Hubs : The Integrated Agro Food Parks or
The Agro Logistics Parks
Spokes : The Rural Transformation Centers
To create sustainable and viable Agro Food Parks, there is a need to trigger
a transformation on the rural side which would be the backbone of
GreenPort's IAFP initiatives since this is where the intended beneficiaries of
the project live. Hence, the creation of Rural Transformation Centers (RTC)
around the IAFPs.
GreenPort has drawn inspiration from the PURA model championed by the
former President of India, Mr.Abdul Kalam in designing the RTC model
The Spokes of the RTC as they are called would be a mini-township by itself
and would have various facilities like Agri-clinics, Farmer Training Centers,
Collection Centers, Primary Health Centers, Rural Marts, etc.
GreenPort Corporation is currently engaged in various
agri-business infrastructure related projects across the Indian
states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and
Maharashtra.
GreenPort Corporation is also exploring location in other parts of
the country
