Background and Rationale

• Existing site was perceived as inadequate for future needs▫ Content, usability, manageability, modern “web 2.0”▫ Changing demographics and advent of new media

• Support a broader audience and purpose▫ 24x7x365 involvement and engagement▫ Member and non-member outreach – Full time residents,

part time summer residents, renters, year round visitors

• Maintain fresh content and resources▫ Support the mission of the association

A Vision

• Foster community and promote involvement in the Greensboro Association through further communications and outreach.

▫ Facilitate communication and collaboration within Greensboro Association and between the Association, its committees and its members, and

▫ Increase the value that the Greensboro Association provides to members of the Greensboro community

Current Status and Plans

• Established a website platform for growth▫ Content Management System Technology (Joomla)▫ Plug-ins and software tools

• Spend less than ½ the budget▫ The current site and foundation along with hosting

services cost the association less than $1,000• Plan to continually enhance the site over time

▫ Enhance look and feel / visual design / usability▫ Online payment and new member registration▫ Online Registration and Directory

• Access current Area News, Information and Association Resources

• View and contribute to an Online Calendar• Find members in the Member Directory • Use the Resource Directory of area attractions and

services• Participate in the Reports Discussion Forum around

community issues• Get Membership information and registration forms• Find Greensboro using the Google Map and

Directions• Contribute to the Photo Gallery and view other’s

contributions
