Harry Rosenblum of The Brooklyn Kitchen will lead this workshop on how to make and use vinegar to elevate your cooking and your eating. Vinegar adds flavor and healthy probiotics to your food and drink. This workshop will cover the basics, focusing on fruit scrap vinegar using pineapple and any fruit that is at peak season. You’ll take home a quart jar of proto-vinegar and in about eight weeks you’ll have your own to use!

Learn the basics of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and colony care in this hands-on workshop. Greenbelt Native Plant Center Field Trip GreenThumb

Join GreenThumb on a field trip for a tour of the Greenbelt Native Plant Center-NYC Park’s 13-acre greenhouse, nursery, and seed bank complex on Staten Island. Participants will learn how the center provides native plants and seeds from local plant populations in support of the restoration and management of many of the City’s most valuable natural areas. We will hear from the center staff, which have extensive knowledge of the local ecosystems of the region. Their seed collectors alone log thousands of hours each year in the field.
