Course Content

Assessing and improving healthcare organizations (public, for-profit and non-profit) through best practices of managerial and financial accounting (auditing, pricing, cost allocation) and analytical tools (operating ratios, key performance indicators, dashboards, common size- and trend-analysis) of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements and statements of cash flows)

Our Class Projects

Problem solving via web-based, multidisciplinary teamwork; case studies (of health systems, hospitals, nursing homes, physicians’ offices, government programs); program budgeting; oral presentations to the Board of Directors; forecasting and managing costs, expenses, and revenues; administrator interviews and career advancement opportunities.
