Greetings from IAMM Delhi Chapter! On behalf of organizing Executive Committee of IAMM-DC we feel privileged to welcome Clinical Microbiol- ogists and other esteemed delegates to participate in the “MICRO-D-CON 2017being held between 7-9 December 2017 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Microbiology is a rapidly evolving field with advances occurring every day. Keeping this in mind the theme of this year’s 9th Annual confer- ence is “Current Trends in Microbiology : Meeting the Challenges”. All Clinical Mi- crobiologists of the region eagerly wait for this event to show case their scientific re- search in the areas of clinical microbiology, immunology and infection control. The meeting provides unique opportunity for understanding and assimilating expanding knowledge in the field and help participants to exchange ideas and create networking among various microbiologists. Like preeding years, IAMM DC Executive Committee is organizing a preconference CME on “Microscopy to Microarray: Reducing time to diagnosis” on 8 th December 2017 in Gulmohar Hall at India Habitat Center (IHC). This CME intends to take our microbiologists friends on an exciting journey from microscopic techniques to rapid and automated diagnostic techniques. Every year IAMM DC organizes hands-on wet satellite workshops to give our budding micro- biologists a hands-on and a real exposure to the cutting-edge technologies. This year too these workshops are being organized on 8 th December, 2017 at various institutes of repute. These workshops will focus on advances in surveillance of nosocomial infections, syndromic approaches and Flow cytometry amongst other recent technologies. The Annual conference inauguration and banquet will be held one day prior to the Conference, i.e. on 8 th December, 2017 evening at IHC. We request the august presence of all our delegates. The in- augural session will begin with oral PG presentations. The conference will end with the annual GBM on 9th December 2017. Guidelines for Abstract Submission and Oral Presentation Abstract for oral and poster presentation The abstract should not exceed 250 words. The name of the presenting author should be underlined or printed in bold letters. The abstract should be structured as: Title, Authors, Name of the Institute, Objectives, Ma-

terials and Methods, Results and Conclusions. Title should be in bold capital letters. Inappropriately structured or incomplete abstracts will not be accepted. The abstract should be typed in single line spacing using Times New Roman font 12. Abbreviations are not to be used. The abstract must be submitted online only by E-mail: [email protected]. Please mention the category (award category/free poster) for the abstract submission Oral Presentation Please make sure that your oral presentation accurately reflects the abstract submitted to

the scientific committee as this abstract will be printed in the conference souvenir. Presenters should bring their oral presentations in a pen drive or CD. Laptop and projector

will be provided by the organizers. Presenters will be assigned a specific time slot and room for their oral presentation. Presentations must be set up in the time allotted before the session. A time slot of 7 minutes will be provided for each presentation of which 5 minutes will be

allocated for the presentation and 2 minutes for interaction. Please make sure to STRICTLY ADHERE to the timing specified as session chairs will

strictly enforce the 7 minute rule for each speaker. Please note that each presenter must load his/her presentation prior to his session. No presenter will be allowed to load presentation during the session.
