Griffith University recognises that there are some subjects and studies undertaken by high school students that require a high level of skill and knowledge and that better prepare students for the rigour and diversity of tertiary study.

OP eligible students (or equivalent interstate students) successfully completing nominated subjects or studies will automatically be granted bonus admission ranks when applying to study at Griffith University.

The bonus admission scheme applies to the following subjects or study:

QTAC 228182 – Bachelor of AviationNew Admission Requirements which need to be included on the Admission to Bachelor of Aviation Coversheet:

• Aviation Reference Number (ARN) • CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate• Pilot Aptitude Assessment

Additional information on the Program Catalogue:

1) Students will be required to approach an approved flight training provider themselves and paying the aviation tuition fees to the provider, or

2) Enrolling concurrently in the Griffith program Graduate Diploma of Flight Management. Applicants fully informed flight training costs $110,000. Students who enrol in this program are able to apply for a Fee-Help loan toward the costs of flight training ($85,000).

3) Students need to successfully complete Years 1 and 2 before commencing flight training and then take a Leave of Absence to focus entirely on their flight training. After a year of leave return to complete year 3.

The Griffith University Early Start to Tertiary Studies (GUESTS) Program is for high achieving year 12 students who wish to undertake a single course (subject) at Griffith University.

GUESTS students experience university life and may be eligible to apply for Guaranteed Entry into one of Griffith University's Degree Programs.

Guaranteed entry to some undergraduate degree programs requires the student to have successfully completed a specific course. Please see the Required Courses section for further details.

There are also specific sections on the GUESTS webpage outlining details for students interested in Music, Languages and Medicine and Oral Health courses, or the Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art .

Please check these sections for further details and suggested courses.

Students interested in other degree programs can choose from the Popular Courses section of the GUESTS website.

Eligibility for entry:

– A minimum achievement of at least two (2) VHA’s (A’s) plus some HA’s (B’s) in Authority or Authority Registered subjects

– Applicants must be currently undertaking the prerequisites for entry into their desired degree program.

– The program is available to OP/ATAR eligible students only– The program is available to Domestic and International Students currently studying Year 12

in Australia

Application process:

Semester 1 intake– Applications close 30 September – Students can apply anytime after they have received their Year 11 Semester 1 report

Semester 2 intake– Applications close 30 May– Students should apply with their Year 11 End of Year report and Year 12 Term 1 report if

available
