The Norwich Lanes are a series of historic passageways and characterful open terraces set just a few steps away from the imposing clock tower of Norwich City Hall. Today, the thriving and pedestrianised area known as the ‘The Lanes’ is home to a vast array of cafes, restaurants and bars, offering something for everyone, morning, noon and night. The city is bathed in history, and is home to the ‘Norwich 12’, a collection of the most iconic buildings in the area and one of the UK’s finest collections of heritage buildings. The Forum,

part of the ‘Norwich 12’, is home to the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library, the BBC East offices and amphitheatre-esque steps in front of the structure that regularly serves as a venue for theatrical performances, musical recitals, outdoor opera and art exhibitions.

SPORTSport in Norwich is dominated by the city’s football team Norwich City F.C. Spread over sixteen packed days, the internationally renowned festival presents more than 100 performances featuring a superb line-up of companies ensembles from around the world. The Festival programme includes music, theatre, dance, circus and visual arts as well as a host of spectacular free outdoor events. If you’re feeling energetic there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in Festival workshops and events.

Norwich enjoys excellent connectivity links to surrounding areas and major domestic cities, particularly via rail. Just a 300 yard walk from Grosvenor House is Norwich Railway Station that runs half-hourly direct services to London with less than two hours travel time. The station also serves Liverpool Lime Street to the north via Manchester Piccadilly, offering tenants and homeowners of Grosvenor House accessibility to some of the major

players in the Northern Powerhouse. Norwich International airport is located just 4 miles from the city centre with easy transport links via a regular bus service. Direct flights are currently available to Norwich from: Aberdeen, Alicante, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Malaga and Manchester.

HELP TO BUYBuying a property is one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll ever make so it’s important to weigh up the pros and cons of owning as opposed to renting first. The Government’s ‘Help To Buy’ scheme aims to help buyers who have a deposit of at least 5% to buy a new-build home up to the value of £600,000. The Government will lend eligible buyers up to 20% of the value of your new build home via an equity loan - you will then only need to secure a mortgage for 75% of the property’s value.

ABOUT HELP TO BUY

Help To Buy is a Government backed scheme which allows eligible buyers to buy a new-build home with a 5% deposit - therefore only requiring a 75% mortgage with the remaining 20% funded by the Government through an equity loan.

HOW DOES IT WORK

The scheme is available on new-build properties under the value of £600,000. The Help To Buy equity loan can be paid back at any time during your time at the property or on the sale of your home. The equity loan is interest free for the first five-years although you may still have to pay interest on your mortgage. Help To Buy is available to all new homebuyers not just first time buyers. You won't be able to sublet your home. Help To Buy is only

available on new-build homes in England.

PAYING BACK THE LOAN

Once you purchase your home, your home will be in your name, which means you can sell it at any time. You won’t have to pay your equity loan back until you decide to sell your property or at the end of your mortgage period. You can however, pay some of your equity loan back sooner. You are entitled to pay either 10% or 20% of your equity loan back as long as your loan equates to a minimum 10% of the total value of your home.
