Green Group Information

Green Group are Letter Name Alphabetic (Middle), Short Vowel spellers based on a spelling inventory performed early in term 2.

Their words consist of two sets. The first, sight words, are from the Magic 100 Words. This follows on from previous terms.

The second set are based on Words Their Way and concentrate on short vowel words initially.

The next phase for these students is Consonant Blends and Digraphs. Some of these are introduced during the term.See table 5-4 on page 145 of WtW (4th edition) for short vowel families that these have been taken from.

The “1st try…2nd try…” boxes are for the students to tick when they spell the word correctly during Look-Say-Cover-Write-Check. They do this up to four times per week.

The sentences provided on the right side are for use during the partner spelling test.
