Money raised through the GSES annual campaign for the Endowment is placed in an escrow account and will be returned to donors if the $100,000 is not raised by December 31. “The GSPO matched this challenge because COE is a shining example of what is special about GSES, where all students from PreK – 8th grade participate,” said Amie Rainey, GSPO President. “The generosity of one of our families, and the GSPO match, makes it possible for someone to give $50 and make it a $100 contribution, a family to give $250 and make it a $500 contribution up to another $100,000.”

Double the Dollars - The COE and Disaster Relief Endowment $100,000 Matching Campaign

A current family, wishing to remain anonymous, offered to match dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, to begin a COE and Disaster Relief Endowment Fund. The GSPO has matched this $50,000, and is challenging all of us to a dollar-for-dollar match up to $100,000, to be raised by December 31, 2014, through the COE and Disaster Relief Endowment Matching Campaign. Money raised through the GSES annual campaign for the Endowment is placed in an escrow account and will be returned to donors if the $100,000 is not raised by December 31.

For the next two years, GSES fundraising will focus on our classroom with the most scenic view. Classroom of the Earth is one of those rare experiences that truly captures the soul of each and every GSES student. In addition to practical skills, like learning to pitch a tent, read a map, or use a compass, our students are learning how to connect with one another in real life, in real time, offline.

There’s something about getting back to nature that empowers GSES students to give back to people, and that’s exactly what happens in the COE Disaster Relief program. Whether it’s a hurricane at the Jersey Shore or a tornado in our own backyard, Tad and his team take serving with compassion to a whole new level. They work hard to deliver meals, water, and supplies, and are quick to lend a hand for any task that is needed. Funding COE Disaster Relief ensures that our trailer is always stocked and our team is ready to go whenever and wherever they are needed.

The Coe and disaster relief Endowment Fund

At GSES, you can be at ease with the knowledge that your tuition dollars are being applied responsibly and are stretched to cover all our basics; you will find no gap here. This careful distribution allows us to be more intentional with the dollars we raise on an annual basis, and direct funds into special projects like our CCL

Library, iPads, mobile and interactive furniture, and for the next two years, to support the COE and Disaster Relief Endowment. The COE and Disaster Relief Endowment is a permanently restricted fund where the original gift amount is retained and part of the interest earned on the principal is spent, providing a perpetual source of Classroom of the Earth operating budget for today’s students and future generations of students to come.
