Chapter 1. Introduction
What is GSGT?
The GSGT provides equivalent functionality as the existing SIM system. It generates radar, non-radar, and combined radar/nonradar tapes for use by the National Airspace System (NAS) as a source of real time inputs and facilitates the testing and integration of NAS and related sub-systems. The GSGT will enable simulation (SIM) developers to perform the development activities in a fraction of the time that it would normally take utilizing NAS SIM alone.

Chapter 2. Starting The GSGT Software
The GSGT main window will be blank until a scenario is created or loaded. Once loaded the scenario's adaptation is displayed. Right clicking on fixes, airways, and fpas will display the currently selected item's information. Some items, such as airways, will have a menu to display the transition fixes.
Scenario
Opens a drop down menu allowing you to create a New scenario, Open an existing scenario, Edit the current scenario, Save the current scenario, or Save As the current scenario with a different name. The save functions are not active until a adaptation has been selected.
Preview
The 'Preview' menu is not active until a adaptation is loaded. Preview allows you to review scenarios. The user may choose between 'Target Preview' or 'Full Preview'. 'Target preview' displays only the targets over the map during scenario playback. 'Full preview' displays the targets and allows the user to review messaging as they occur during scenario playback.
Import
The 'Import' menu will allow the user to select the importnassim function. This function will import a NAS sim formatted file into a GSGT formatted file.
Export
The 'Export' menu will allow the user to select the exportsdrr function or exporttape function. These funcions provide the capability to output scenario data to other formats.
Tools
The 'Tools' menu will allow the user to select the 'Msg List', or 'Track Count Report' tools. The 'Msg List' tool will display a listing of all the SIM messages generated by the scenario and allow the user to sort and search them.

Help
The scroll down 'Help'menu you to select the 'GSGT help' (F1), 'About' (F2) and 'Scenario Info' (F3). The 'GSGT Help' bring up the GSGT online help document. 'About' provides the latest version number of the GSGT software. 'Scenario Info' provides information about the active scenario file.
Stratum
The Stratum list box provides you with a selectable list of stratums from the current scenarios adaptation.
Zoom
The zoom function is controlled two ways. Users may use the slide bar on the top right area of the window. Also, after clicking once on the slide bar, the right and left arrow keys will increase and decrease the zoom, respectively.
GSGT Adaptation Window
GSGT can display adaptations from multiple centers. Each center selected when creating a scenario will be displayed in its own adaptation window. The name of the center is displayed in the title bar of the window (or in the main title bar if the adaptation window is maximized). Each adaptation window only allows the display of elements know to that particular adaptation.
View
The pull-down menu is used to select map data for background display. The background functions may be displayed individually or in combinations. Possible background displays are:
Map - US state boundaries
Radar Sort Boxes - RSBs
Airways
Sectors - ARTCC sector boundaries
FPAs - Fix Posting Areas
Airports (shown as green triangles)
Fixes (light blue dots)
Geomaps - DSR sector maps
Radars - (range displayed as a purple circle)

As you continue to add fixes to the flight plan, the flight route is outlined in RED between fixes. Point and click adds new fixes to the end of the flight plan. To add or remove a fix to a mid point in the flight plan, you can modify the fix text in the flight plan dialogue box.
