• Function of the ASU is to take a small portion of the RX signal and send it to the co-sited RBS
• Switches the attenuation in accordance with whether or not a TMA is used. It also indicates the attenuation state via a LED.
• The ASU has the following connectors:
six input ports for RX signals from the CDU
six output ports for RX signals to the CXU
six output ports for RX signals to the co-sited RBS

• BFU controls the battery system by:
• Measuring battery voltage and current
• Measuring battery temperature
• Measuring RBS load voltage
• BFU will disconnect the batteries from the RBS when:
• Battery voltage drops below 21.0 V or,
• Battery temperature rises above 65 °C (149F)
• BFU will disconnect the batteries from the TM when:
• Battery voltage drops below 20.8 V
• BFU will reconnect the batteries when:
• System voltage rises above 25.5 V and,
• Battery temperature falls below 55 °C (131F)
•These settings are possible to change with the OMT!

• Outdoor and indoor earthing should be separate, or connected together at a lower point in relation to the container/room.
• Indoor earthing of cabinets should be done pointing to the Earth Collection Bar (ECB).
• ECB should be placed closed to the cable inlet.

Remove the cover to the AC connection box.
Pull out the AC cable through the AC connection box.
Connect the cable to the switch in the AC box cover according to the following circuit diagrams.

Select the nearest voltage value, according to the nominal AC voltage on site, with the Voltage Selector.
Remove the key from the Voltage Selector and store it inside the cabinet.

Transmission cables and external alarms are connected at the Distribution Frame (DF), located in the left bottom of the RBS cabinet.
The plate containing the DF components can be lifted up for easier access to the OVP modules and alarms. In addition, the alarm frame itself can be lifted up from the DF plate if needed.

The rear daughter board slot must contain the OVP board.
The forward card slot must be filled with one of the following daughter boards:
• Dummy board (loop forwarding; no processing function)• Balun board (balances 75 to 120 )• By-pass relay board • A combined bypass and balun board to convert an unbalanced system to a balanced system for the RBS, and to bypass an unbalanced system if the RBS is subjected to a power failure.

Remove the cover of the DF connection field. Unfasten the screws at the ends of the external alarm plate. Lift up the external alarm plate. Remove the cover and the OVP card so that the external cable can be attached.Connect the alarm cable to the terminal block If the cable is screened, use the screen braid as an earthing wire. Connect to one of the eight earthing screws on the alarm panel. Fix the cables to the alarm plate using tie-wraps. Make a note of the alarm data on the inside of the DF cover. Insert the OVP card and reattach the cover.

Remove the cover from the over voltage arrestor. Remove the OVP card, so that you will be able to attach the external cable. Connect the alarm cable to the terminal block. If the cable is screened, connect the screen braid on the alarm cable to the earth terminal. Fix the cables to the mounting plate using tie-wraps. Make a note of the alarm data on the inside of the DF cover. Insert the OVP card and put the cover back.

Remove the cover and both daughter boards from the PCM overvoltage module for easy access.
Strip the cable to the appropriate length (it should be the inner edge of the clamp). Cut the sheath carefully with a wire-stripper. Avoid damaging the screen. Remove the sheath.
Fold back the screen over the cable sheath.
Strip the insulation from the pair cable and the conducting wires and cut them to the correct length.
Guide the pairs through the strain relief clamps and connect them to the terminal block at the position for 120.
Clamp the screen and the cable under the large strain relief clamp.
Clamp the outer screen carefully under the relief clamp.
Connect the prefabricated PCM-cable between the DF and the RBS.
Re-insert the cards and put back the cover and tighten the screws.
