A note from our Executive Director -

As the Executive Director of Childproof America, I've had the privilege of training the

wonderful hospital staff at Houston Methodist West on several occasions. Their

commitment to serving victims of human trafficking is admirable and greatly appreciated.

When considering how we might be able to ease the hardships of healthcare workers during

the Coronavirus pandemic, while maintaining social distancing, we came up with the idea

of organizing restaurant prepared meals for emergency room staff. By doing this, it is our

hope that some of the emotional, spiritual and physical burdens will be lifted and they will

know how much the community appreciates their dedication to serving on the front lines as

we face this global crisis. 

As we endure this pandemic together, I want to encourage others to support our local

Food ER program or start one in your own city. Let's support our healthcare workers in

multiple hospitals across the U.S. and around the globe.

Our Childproof America Executive Director, Kelly Litvak is currently looking for individuals,

businesses and restaurants who would be interested in providing nourishing meals to the

Emergency Room staff at hospitals in the Katy, Texas area. For safety reasons, these meals

need to be restaurant prepared and not homemade. If you or others you know would like to

We are calling this our Food ER (emergency response) program. It is a 3 part program - Dine,

Deliver, Donate. Dine - We need restaurants to donate meals for the lunch and/or dinner

shifts. Deliver - We need individuals who will pick up the pre-paid meals and deliver to the

ER. Donate - 100% of your donation will go towards purchasing food for the ER staff!

If you are not in our area, we encourage you start your own Food ER program in your city to

keep your healthcare workers nourished, strong, encouraged and loved.

We have extended our current website to include full instructions on how to launch the

Food ER program in your community. This page includes a toolkit with logos for branding,

a set up information document and a donation ask flyer ready to send to perspective donors

Set Up a Food ERin your area!

Whether an individual, group of friends, church group, civic group,

sports team, girl-scout troop, non-profit, etc. decide who will help you

run this program in your local area.

Find out which hospitals in your area have a Covid-19 Unit. Call the ER

department at those hospitals and tell them about the Food ER

Program. If they are able to accept donated restaurant meals, then

ask how many ER staff is on the daytime shift (lunch) and evening shift

(dinner). Determine who will be your ER point of contact, food drop-

off location and times. Create a food pick-up and delivery schedule

and share with your ER point of contact.

Contact your friends, family, local business and restaurants. See who

is willing to either DINE - donate restaurant prepared meals, or

DELIVER- to pick up the pre-paid meals and make deliveries to the

ERs, or DONATE - money to go towards the cost of purchasing meals
