广州国际设计周是由广州市人民政府主办、广州市经济贸易委员会组州市经济贸易委员会组织、旨在推动自主创新与设计的大型活动，自2006年开始，已成功举办了三届。

GUANGZHOU DESIGN WEEK is a high-profile event dedicated to promoting innovation and design innovation and design. Hosted by Guangzhou municipal People’s government, organized by Economic & Trade C i i f G h Commission of Guangzhou Municipality, Guangzhou design week has achieved its third success since 2006.

低碳设计竞赛——LOW CARBON DESIGN COMPETITION 20082008低碳设计竞赛（Low Carbon Design）由英国驻广州总领事馆与广州国际设计周组委会联合主办 参赛主题2008低碳设计竞赛（Low Carbon Design）由英国驻广州总领事馆与广州国际设计周组委会联合主办，参赛主题是“减少温室气体排放的‘中国制造’”，旨在形成低碳设计风尚，向广大在校学子推广低碳设计的设计原理、理念、方法、手段，来降低中国建筑和中国制造产品在生产、加工、消费、使用和回收等各个环节所产生的温室气体排放。从9月起，广州国际设计周依次去到广州美术学院、清华大学、浙江大学及山东大学等高校进行竞赛推广，截至2008年10月20日，总共收到来自全国各地高校学子共148件产品作品，选出优秀入围作品26件，现场评出银奖作至2008年10月20日，总共收到来自全国各地高校学子共148件产品作品，选出优秀入围作品26件，现场评出银奖作品2件，铜奖作品3件。Low Carbon Design Competition is organized by British Consulate-General Guangzhou and Guangzhou Design Week, theme by “Made in China” Away from Greenhouse Gas Emissions. With the purpose of shaping low carbon design trends, it promotes low carbon design principles, concepts and approaches among college students, to reduce greenhouse gas generated in produce, processing, consumption, use and recovery links of building and manufacturing. Starting in September 2008, Guangzhou Design Week held road shows in The Guangzhou Academic of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University and Shandong Universityrespectively. By October 20, 148 student works were collected, 26pcs of which were selected for final judgment. 2pcs were voted for Silver Prize and 3pcs for Bronze Prize.
