General InformationBooking Procedures: 

1. Please use the downloadable forms from the IITM website (https://www.iitm.ac.in/facilities/guesthouses) for making reservations.

2. The duly filled in form may be submitted at the Reception of TGH.3. No column should be left blank and write “NA” if any of the columns is not applicable.4. No Telephonic bookings / cancellation will be entertained

Classifications of Categories:Category A: 

Directors of sister Institutions, ex-Directors of this Institute, members of Board of Governors,Members of IIT Council, Senior Officials of the Ministry of HRD and AICTE and similar otherorganizations, selection committee members, if they choose to pay, will come under this category.Other guests whose TA/DA is borne by the Institute, will also come under category ‘A’. 

Category B: All guests coming for Conferences, Symposia, Seminars, Workshops, Consultancy, GATE/JEEwork, Viva-voce etc. having direct relevance to activities of IIT, Madras and where TA/DA areborne by individuals or organizations other than IIT Madras. 

Category C: All Private guests (Guests of Faculty/Staff and Parents/Guardians of Students) and other IIT /Government officials whose visits are not in connection with the work of IIT, Madras.  

Category D: Guests coming from Industries for their work.

Check-in, Check-out time: 24 HrsTiming for advance booking of Lunch and Dinner is 0900 hrs and 1400 hrs respectively(at reception).Food / meals will be served only in the dinning hall. No room services will be provided.Consumption of Narcotics/Alcoholic drinks etc is strictly prohibited.Stay is allowed at the entire responsibility of the guest(s). No claims for Loss/damage or lapse of

service will be entertained at any stage.

The room shall be allotted on the condition, that, if necessary, the allottee shall have no objectionfor sharing accommodation with another guest.Please inform the reception about your departure date & time or any other change of scheduleone day in advance.The guest should verify and certify the final bill before departure.The allottee should vacate the room on the expiry of the period for which accommodation wasallotted, unless an extension for further stay has been obtained beforehand in writing.The cancellation, if any, for conferences/seminars/workshop should be notified at least 14 Daysin advance, failing which 50% of the tariff / user charges shall be levied.Male Guests, other than family members are not allowed in the rooms occupied by female guestsand vice-versa.

It is suggested that the room may be got swept/cleaned in the presence of the guest only.Please switch off the AC, geyser, fan, lights while not in use/leaving the room.All charges are to be paid in cash/local cheque at the Office, TGH.
