An essential part of our Mission statement, educational programs are one of the priorities for the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. to fulfill our educational goals, 50 educational programs were designed and implemented in 2007, with 453,762 participants overall, a 4.9% increase from 2006. especially noteworthy was the number of participating educators (24,325) and family audience members (almost 50,000). other initiatives have also continued in 2007, such as programs for children in hospitals (with 165 participants), and Learning Through Art with its annual coverage and end-of-school-year exhibition at the museum.

twenty-five percent of our visitors had the opportunity to discover keys to better comprehend the shows in our DiDAKtiKA didactic spaces, which the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao designs from a multidisciplinary perspective to accompany each exhibition: Palazuelo: Working Process; Anselm Kiefer; Albrecht Dürer: Prints from the Collection of the Städel Museum; or Art in the USA. special materials have been prepared in connection with these shows, and a whole range of resources and activities have been incorporated in the brand new Web site the museum launched in october within the context of the 10th Anniversary celebrations. to mark this occasion, a number of special programs were scheduled such as panel discussions, courses, workshops, a contemporary art symposium, creative processes, conversation sessions, etc., with the participation of renowned artists, curators, and personalities.
