In this experience you will be given options. These options will guide youthrough noticing lesser-known aspects of campus. By choosing or respondingto questions we have offered you, you will in fact be controlling your ownexperience. We havent created a finite guide for you, weve just provided the

tools for you to make your own. There will be two things (aside from this document) that you will be requiredto have with you on this journey. One is a camera. This could be any kindof machinery that captures images, Polaroid, phone, digital, etc. The sec-ond is a number. While you will not have to actually carry this with you, youre going to need to remember it. But dont worry it wont be anything like98,634,523,487. Its any number between 3 and 10.

    For the purity of this process circle your choice here...3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

As you pass from item to item sometimes you will know the steps ahead ofyou but for the most part you will not. We encourage you to be invested intothis quest. Enjoy it, embrace it, and be expressive. This project is about inter-actions, unexpected things may arise in your adventure but thats what lifeis all about. So think on your toes and have fun with it!

Now youre ready, its going to be a good time

First instruction:Regardless of whether or not you are alone or meeting your partner, get your ass to Ryder Hall.

follow exercise aIf you respond the entrance by the quad

    follow exercise b

Exercise a:Generally you might not have noticed the ceilingbeams above you, but do so now.

Please utilize your camera to capture athought out and interesting composition of

the beams.Exercise b:More than likely youve never seen the card swipeon the desk to your left. Feel free to see if yourcard is allowed or denied.

Please utilize your camera to capture aninteresting and thought out composition ofthe swiper.

You officially completed your first step. It feels good doesnt it?(*Note: although at the end of this adventure you will need onlyone photo from each step, we know that being able to capturethe right composition doesnt happen in one try. Take your cre-ativity into consideration.)

Youve got the basics down, so were not going to walk youthrough every step now. However, be on the lookout for bonus

    activities and other fun tidbits.

    WHOA BONUS ACTIVITY!

    Check that out

The following steps in the guide will require you to travel to theupper floors of Ryder Hall. Your bonus activity is to use the alter-native stairwell (the one that will bring you to the fourth floor). Atthe base you will find several black squares marking the ground. Our interpretation of these markings is that they are a futuristicversion of hopscotch. Consider yourself what they may be, or sim-

ply just complete your documentation of them (just take a picture).

Now that you have trekked up the stairs to the second floor,Locate room 281 and within it 279.

Were you able to get into both rooms? If yesFind the flyswatters

You know what to do, take a nice compositionwith them.

Locked out? BummerWhat you should do now is find the orange columns inthe hall and photograph them.

Scoot your way over to the library. Proceed to the third floor. From the main stairwell navigate towards the back right corner ofthe floor.

Take your time wandering through the stacks if youd like, butyour destination is the lounge like area. There you will find one, possibly two, fantastic armchairs.

If they are occupied youve got some leeway. You could takea picture with the person in it unaware, ask them to pose, orwait till they leave.

Do be considerate of the etiquette of the libraryand try not to be entirely disruptive if approaching

another person, but have some fun with thesituation.

If unoccupied, sit down. Relax for a delicate few. Snap yourphotograph(s) from the perspective of the chair.

Time yet again to depart a location. For the next two stops youwill be traveling two different ways, either outside or inside. Youcan travel however you want first, but you will be required to trav-el the opposite way to the next step.

Upon choosing outside: read page 7Upon choosing inside: read page 8

After reading either page 7 or 8, advance to page 9

    Outside assignment:

Walking through above ground campus, you are creating a compo-sition with found materials as your tools and as your canvas. Theitems used as tools should be nature items. (For example: leaves, twigs, dirt). Your canvas should be a manmade item. (For example:stone, metal, glass). In creating your composition you should con-sider being able to leave it and not worry that it cause damageor intrusion to everyday use of the space, or be considered pol-luting. Once completed document your composition.

    Inside assignment:

Walking through the tunnels below campus, find an item or sceneyou feel is usually unnoticed and capture it. If you can, create asomewhat lasting composition, but the main goal of your assign-ment is to take the picture.

Since we dont want you to walk aimlessly in the tunnels or oncampus, youre goal is to arrive at Churchill Hall and locate thedining hall.

Once you get there, depending on how you have traversed, you will have a task.

Theyre pretty easy to figure out

If you traversed outside, photograph from the outside of the dining hall.

If you traversed inside, photograph from the insideof the dining hall.

Now youre going to be traveling again (to Curry Student Center)If before you chose outside, now choose inside. Or vise versa.

If youre going to travel outside now: read page 7, when youredone go to page 10.If youre going to travel inside now: read page 8, when youredone go to page 10.

Being aware the Curry is a vast building, approach the food courtand make your way towards the spiral staircase.

HALT. Stop yourself at the bottom.

What you are looking for is the fountain.

See it? Spiffy. If you are looking at the display fountain underneaththe stair case

Document it and then use the outdoor stairs toget to the main floor.

If you are looking at the drinking water fountain nextto the stair case

Document it and then proceed up the spiral staircase to the main floor.

If you trekked up the stairsStroll on over to the game room. Are you a pool shark?Even if youre a ping-pong guppy... play a game. Use theequipment in whichever game you played to create a

    composition. Photograph accordingly.

If you transported yourself via elevatorHead over to the roof terrace to check things out. Takein the scene and the setting. Alter the furniture in away that you feel is innovative. Do you think the chairsshould face all one way? Should the chairs face eachother? Do you want to move all of them or only someof them? Set up your experimental design and snap

    some evidence.
