Now that you’ve enrolled, it’s time to take the

final steps on your journey to becoming a true

Husky! Be sure to check out our Husky Insider

Info throughout this booklet if you want to get

a head start on campus tips and NU slang.

At Northeastern, Orientation is more than campus tours and registration—it’s a crash course on life as a Husky.

It’s a chance to get acquainted with your college and meet with your academic adviser.

It’s a sneak peek into the array of exciting experiential learning opportunities ahead of you.

It’s your launching pad for forming friendships that will

last a lifetime.

First Pages is a program designed to bring all of our new Huskies together outside of the traditional classroom setting. Each year we choose a challeng-ing and engaging book that provides insight into an important issue.

This year’s selection is From the Memoirs of a Non-Enemy Combatant: A Novel, by Alex Gilvarry. As you read, think of concerns, questions, or comments that you might contribute to the conversation with your new classmates and the author, who will present to the incoming class during Welcome Week on Tuesday, September 8. Students may purchase a copy of the book from the University Bookstore at a 30 percent discount, beginning June 15. The book is also available at most retailers and as an e-book.

Massachusetts state law requires all full-time and part-time students enrolled in a Massachusetts institution of higher learning to participate in a student health program or in a health benefit plan with comparable coverage. The Northeastern University Student Health Plan (NUSHP) meets and exceeds state requirements. You may choose to decline NUSHP if your current health insurance meets Massachusetts’ guidelines for comparable coverage.

REGISTER FOR

Students who are eligible and wish to decline NUSHP must do so each academic year by completing the online health-waiver form found at myneu.neu.edu. Students will have access to this form once they receive their first semester e-bill.

Massachusetts state law requires that all students provide proof of immunity to certain diseases before arriving at the university. The requirements are specified in the health report, which will be sent to you by email soon. Once received, update your immunizations and return the health report by the date specified. Students who do not provide this information will not have access to future class registration.
