Step 3• Reviewcommentsandupdateguidelinesaccordingtoanydiscussionsanddecisions
made.
Guidelinesmaybedevelopedmoreinformallyusingthesamplepolicyasaguidefordiscussionandtheparents/carersagreeinginprinciple.
Step 4 • Distributetheguidelinestostaff,parentsandcarers• Communicatetheexpectationsregardingthefoodanddrinksthatareencouraged
andthosethatarediscouragedfrombeingbroughttothegroupsessionorservicetoparents/carersinasupportiveandinclusivemanner.

• Includetheguidelineinyoursigninareaordisplaywhereitisaccessibletoallstaffandfamilies
Step 5• Reviewfoodandnutritionpracticesevery12monthsorasnecessarytoensuretheyare
consistentwithyourserviceguidelines• Updatetheguidelinesanddiscusswithparents/carersasrequired.
