The Protecting Sensitive Information Guideline Task Force (PSIGTF) of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee (CIPC) has posted a draft of the document Protecting Sensitive Information Guideline for a 45-day broad industry comment period.  This comment period represents the second comment period for the document, and the final opportunity for comment in the guideline development process.

The guideline has already been reviewed by CIPC as part of Step 9 of the CIPC-approved Security Guideline Process Flow diagram.  The original version of the guideline, a redline document showing changes made in response to the comments received from CIPC, as well as a comment and response summary document for that version is available on the SGWG web page here.

As defined by Step 12 of the CIPC-approved Security Guideline Process Flow diagram, industry will have a 45-day opportunity to comment on this draft.  The PSIGTF will consider all comments and then develop the final version of the guideline.  Following this update, the CIPC will vote to approve the guideline.  The process flow diagram is available electronically here.
