i.e. I am applying for the position of Nuclear Medicine Technologist which was advertised recently in the

New York Times.

4. give a one-paragraph summary of your resume, to include the most salient points (NMT education, NMT experience, certification).

i.e. I graduated from the University of Vermont’s Nuclear Medicine Technology Program and am certified by the NMTCB. My clinical experiences have been at

Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont and at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

5. finish with some “keywords” that will grab the reader and make him/her take interest and want to read your resume and to meet you.

“I would like to become more involved with clinical research and teaching. As a requirement of my educational

program, I have made many scientific presentations with Powerpoint software and really enjoy this aspect of Nuclear Medicine in addition to general clinical procedures.

i.e. (if you were applying to a small community hospital)

“I have a variety of clinical experiences and am capable of learning new procedures very quickly. I get along well

with all my co-workers and feel very comfortable working on a team. I am willing and eager to learn related imaging modalities.”

i.e. (if you were applying to work in a private office):

My past exposure to a private clinical practice in Cardiology leads me to seek a similar position. I like the

environment and the opportunity to work closely with physicians, nurses and other health care workers.”

6. finish with a single sentence, then sign off:

i.e. I look forward to hearing from you.
