We work with various organizations and experts dedicated to encouraging inclusiveness to give all children, and their caregivers, access to the experience of play. physical activity and contribute to our children’s physical wellbeing and social

Playing in sandpits and playhouses, climbing nets, crawling through tunnels and
going down slides develops children’s physical skills as well as their intuitive, visual and
mathematical skills. The physical and motor-skill games leave room for role play and
stimulate thought – they help children improve their language skills, science skills and
musical skills. Meeting others through play also develops children’s social and
personal skills.

Commitment to safetyNothing is more important than a safe, positive play environment for children to play. Our commitment to providing such an environment begins with meeting and/or exceeding safety performance specifications established by organizations and regulatory bodies such as ASTM, CPSC, CSA and EN.
Beyond compliance, we are an active participant in many of these writing bodies providing input into the standard development process.
In the interest of playground safety, IPEMA provides a Third Party Certification Service whereby a designated independent laboratory validates a participant’s certification of conformance to ASTM F1487, Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Playground Equipment for Public Use, except sections 10 & 12.6.1; CAN/CSA Z614, Children’s Play Spaces and Equipment, except clauses 9.8, 10 & 11; or both. The use of the corresponding logo in HAGS catalog signifies that HAGS has received written validation from the independent laboratory that the product(s) associated with the use of the logo conforms with the requirements of the indicated standard. Check the IPEMA website at www. ipema.org to confirm product validation.
TÜV Product Service is a world renowned leader in testing and certification activities. European Standard EN1176-1177 is the most up-to-date combined European Standard for Commercial Playground Equipment. Use of the TÜV certification mark is evidence to the customer of product quality and compliance to stringent safety standards.

A UniPlay unit can be adapted to almost any surrounding – on slopes or twisted around natural obstacles. The coloring can also be chosen to either stand out or blend in with the surroundings. The newly expanded Lafayette Park in San Francisco, California, includes a customized HAGS UniPlay structure with a 17-foot central tower structure, crawl tunnels, slides, climbing nets and a wooden footbridge.
The Lafayette Park playground has been cleverly designed by Miller Company Landscape Architects to create a terrain shaped for adventure using inspirational playground equipment that utilises natural color tones to meet the local community’s desire for the park to have a natural theme.
One of the feature play structures is a fully customized HAGS Uniplay unit. HAGS are renowned for their ability to create fully bespoke play structures. The architects have used the benefits of our modular play system by adapting it to the shifting terrain, combining different play functions and creating custom color and material combinations based on their vision.

The UniPlay family is available in five standard colors. There is also the option to choose from the whole palette of colors – in different combinations, a harmonized spectrum of colors or anyway you want.
The five standard colors are shown on the opposite page. The only part of the units that can’t be painted are the roofs. They are always blue.

HAGS products are made of pine (pinus sylvestris) from forests in northern Sweden, where the cold climate makes the trees grow slowly. The conditions give the wood an ideal protection, a strong resistance and durability.
Thanks to slow thickness growth, the pine trunks have narrow growth rings and a large amount of heartwood. This reduces the risk for cracks compared to other types of wood.

One of the unique capabilities of HAGS modular system is the possibility to adapt the design following variations in the landscape.
The posts that support the floors and screens can be placed on completely different height levels relative to each other - and yet function as a stable and supporting structure for high towers and long climbing sections and several different play functions.
Don’t let a tricky location discourage your project. With planning and good advice from our specialists – you can build any way you want even if the area is not flat.
A hillside can become the site of a wonderful HAGS playground, with slides, climbing walls, nets and games.

When you know what your ultimate playground should look like, but are constrained by a budget in the first year, it may be a good idea to build the project in stages.
Consider spreading the project in budget steps of two or more years. Start stage 1 with a core play unit that gives great play value for children and at stages 2 and 3 add in new sections.
Complete gradually with other play products from the Solo range, i.e. swings, roundabouts, spring animals.

HAGS UniPlay offer a number of games and play functions. On HAGS web site you can see what each standard unit is equipped with.
Most of them can be exchanged or added to any standard unit. Talk to your HAGS represantative if you would like to make a change or add something new to your HAGS UniPlay unit.
CLIMBING WALLThe climbing wall is an excellent means of varying play and the degree of difficulty, for example by offering climbing sideways or round corners. The UniPlay family includes a number of climbing walls that can be integrated into the equipment in various ways.
MATERIALS: phenol film-coated plywood or HPL wall with polyester grips. Electro-galvanized and powder coated steel brackets.

CUBYThe Cuby module invites climbing in several different dimensions. CLIMBING ROPEClimbing up a rope is really tough – anyone who’s tried knows that. This climbing rope is equipped with balls that offer climbing support, but this play function also requires even more decisiveness, strength and coordination. The rope also functions as an alternative ascent and descent for the climbing frame.

ORIGOOrigo is the heart of the entire Agito system. A wel-coming place high above the ground, accessible by both easy and difficult routes – exciting climbs using ladders, nets or some of our new climbing functions. From here, “the spider in the web” can get an over-view of further play or take a nice, quiet break.
SAILA true main sail that awakens thoughts of climbing high above the sea. The obvious function as a ladder is supplemented by the huge openings – climb through from one side to the other. Although the play function is securely anchored, the user’s own movement pattern creates a feeling of wind in the sail.
ROCKSThe floating blocks provide another dimension of movement. The blocks hang at several different heights and move in all directions, which requires attention on testing. Used for both rest and activity – such as pods or small islands to move along during another voyage of discovery. The soft material gently guides feet that have gone astray.
PIROUETTEPerforming a pirouette gives you a wonderful feel-ing of freedom. When you move your body toward the Pirouette pole, the Pirouette becomes a rounda-bout in miniature. It’s even more fun when there are several people playing at once.
RODEORodeo has a ballast of 33 lbs that gradually coun-teracts the user’s own movements. You can choose which of Rodeo’s five grooves to sit in – the smaller the groove, the more work is required to rotate the Rodeo. In addition to riding the Rodeo, you can also compete with yourself to reach the symbols specified on the seating element. Sitting on the Rodeo while turning it to a specific position requires precision and is an excellent opportunity to practice balance and strengthen core muscles.
PUNCHThe punch bag encourages exercise in a gentle, yet tough way; the slightly soft material is pleasant to hit. It hangs on a wire, the top of which has some flexibility while the bottom is fixed. The punch bag moves when hit, but be aware that it also returns to its original position due to resistance. If you are not prepared, you may get a shove.
RUNGSThe vertical Rungs climbing ladder is a slightly different way to get up into HAGS Agito. The angular shape makes it possible to climb on both sides and the width between the rungs is enough to allow children to wriggle between them. In addition to the actual climbing experience, Rungs is also a good link to the other play functions.
SKATERA skateboard that moves! This street-inspired board is skated over a 9-foot long track when the user shifts their weight from one foot to the other. With plenty of practice, you can decide yourself whether you want to move the board backwards or forwards. The track itself is suspended in torsion springs, which means that it can be made to wobble by simply shifting your weight. An unrivalled exercise in rhythm, motor skills and strenght building balance.
SLOPEA clear hint of what’s in store. The ladder in all its different forms is one of the entrances to the world of Agito. Slope’s attachment has built-in mobility that varies with the user’s chosen path. Safe and secure, but the message is clear: Get moving!
JUNGLE ROADThe starting point for this tricky jungle trip is three vertical ellipses that can also rotate. The built-in inertia requires decisiveness and physical work. The ellipses are equipped with large holes which children will natu-rally want to climb through. The challenge is to get from point A to point B through the moving forest – the expe-rience is similar to a multi-dimensional climbing wall. It is possible to climb on several different levels: close to the ground, high up, through the holes or via the outside. It requires not only technique, but also cooperation!
LEAFInspired by a leaf blowing in the wind, Leaf pivots slightly as a person moves over its surface. It is cov-ered in rubber to provide a better grip. Coordination and balance are more important than raw strength.
O LINKNets are something new in the world of Agito. O Link is a classic climbing frame which also functions as a link up to Origo. The frame is manufactured from nylon-spun cable that is gentle on the hands and feet.
CLIFFHANGERAn exciting lateral climb that helps to develop personal abilities such as strength and coordination – different climbing routes have different degree of difficulty. The challenge is real without any increase in height. From the curvy middle, each pole runs over or under the actual climbing wall, for those who would prefer to hang by the knee!
CIRRUSHang by the knee in a brand new way! The Cirrus rings have been designed to be able to swing – the swinging movement means that the user experiences the same resistance as the ring. The greater the swinging movement, the greater the resistance. The Cirrus rings can, of course, also be used to develop upper body strength. Two people using the rings at the same time just makes it more fun.
BRANCHA more demanding alternative to a normal ladder. The two slightly bent poles function like branches in a tree, the weight being transferred alternately to each leg in order to climb higher. The polyurethane balls provide support and function like natural forks in a tree.
HOPPERA play function reminiscent of a kangaroo. Like stones in the water, welcoming platforms are located at points around the Agito system. There are often several in a row, and they can function as both a separate challenge and a connecting link in the loop. The platforms, which are available in various heights, are slightly flexible. A bushing in the attachment provides a pleasantly resilient feeling and is thus gentle on legs and joints.

PLAY FuNCTIONS
BANNISTERThe gradient of the Bannister is optimised to provide a high sliding speed and the glider invites unconventional gliding options. The Bannister is one way of investigating the body’s potential in an action-packed situation. Again, it’s a question of balance and above all, creativity.
WEBA starting point in play – for a short rest or renewed activity. Like Web Link but without the horizontal net.
WIGGLERThe tough Wiggler balance bar is a clear part of the loop for anyone playing “Shipwreck”. The bar is equipped with small balls and plates, which can make balancing on them quite difficult if you don’t know how. The bar is flexible and rocks slightly when weight is put on the ends or middle of the bar. A true balancing act that requires both training and concentration!
STARTERThe skateboard-inspired board is moved through alternate pressure of the right and left foot. A torsion spring provides the right amount of wobble when you walk or jump on it. Starter is great as a warm-up; the pulse speeds up and the legs get pumping before further adventure in HAGS Agito. Starter can also accommodate two at a time, with each choosing a side to step on.
TOURNAMENTTournament is the ultimate combination for playful competition between friends. A chance to challenge each other to reach different positions first. Or: who can stay sitting the longest? Thoughts turn immediately to a real pillow fight or “King of the Castle”. Tournament is a playful way to challenge each other, and perhaps Agito’s most distinct competition function. STEEPSteep is a vertical climbing wall offering a steeper climb up to Origo. The curve of the climbing wall strengthens the climbing experience as you move upwards and inwards at the same time. Nordic pine for resistance and durability.
HAGS products are made of pine (pinus sylvestris) from forests in northern Sweden, where the cold climate makes the trees grow slowly. The conditions give the wood an ideal protection, a strong resistance and durability.
Thanks to slow thickness growth, the pine trunks have narrow growth rings and a large amount of heartwood. This reduces the risk for cracks compared to other types of wood.

HPL (High Pressure Laminate, 80% recycled material) is an extremely strong and durable, non-porous material with UV stabilizers that endures even the harshest of outdoor environments. HPL is easy to clean and requires no surface treatment offering consumers a low maintenance product. HPL is a versatile material with double milled rounded edges which gives HAGS products their unique appearance and smooth surfaces enticing children to explore and play with the product. Ecogrip is made from 92% post-consumer recycled polyethylene. Ecogrip has a textured, rubberized surface ideal for walking, climbing and crawling. It is highly durable, easy to clean and vandal resistant offering consumers a long life, low maintenance product.
Plywood is of a quality intended for outdoor use.
Our timber is mainly fine-ringed Swedish pine, preferably from northern Sweden. Certified in accordance with FSC or PEFC.
The timber is planed and the edges rounded. Sandboxes are manufactured from oak, among other things. Screws and nuts are protected against vandalism by a plastic HAGS cover cap or zinc-covered screw grooves. Nets and ropes are manufactured from hot-galvanized chain coated with solid polyurethane for durability and minimal sensitivity to temperature variations.
Design-rolled stainless steel in slides and crawl tubes provides a long service life and even fric-tion. Bolt joints are galvanized to protect against rusting. Posts and metal parts are made of high-tensile steel.
WOOD PROTECTIONAll timber is pressure-impregnated according to the norms of the European standard EN 351 Class P5 and the directives of the Nordic Wood Preservation Council. The need for chemical protection varies according to how great the risk is for timber-destroying organisms in the local environment.
Wood protection class P5 is intended for above ground timber and is applied to all free surfaces after machining. The active ingredients in the oils used for this impregnation technique are biologically degradable and protect timber against moisture, drying-out and fibre-raising. It is an environmentally safe treatment and is in no way harmful to the wood. We use HAGS treated oak for wooden components that come into direct contact with the ground.
SURFACE TREATMENTWood is treated with one coat of woodstain primer and one coat of film-forming woodstain finisher to ensure the very best durability and resistance to wind and rain at the same time as it
preserves and enhances the natural graining of the wood. Wooden components are flow-coated twice to saturate the fibres with pigment for the finest possible quality.
Steel components are either hot-dip galvanized or powder coated with polyester-type powder coatings. Galvanized steel is powder coated.

LIMITED WARRANTYClassification of materials in relation to years of HAGS Limited Warranty:• 10yearsAgainst structural failure due to material or production defects on all galvanized and other non-coated steel and metal parts, solid plastic and HPL panels and machined timber.
• 5yearsAgainst structural failure due to material or pro-duction defects on springs, coated metal parts, molded plastic parts and net constructions.
• 2yearsAgainst functional failures due to material or production defects on movable plastic and metal parts.
WARRANTY TERMS AND CLAIMS PROCEDUREIf any products prove defective or non- conforming under normal use and within the above-prescribed warranty periods, Purchaser must notify HAGS in writing at HAGS – A Play Power Inc Company, 878 E. Highway 60, Monett, MO, USA 65708 within thirty (30) days of when a product defect is discovered or should have been discovered. Purchaser must present the valid original invoice or the original warranty certificate along with the notice of claim. In addition, the customer must, upon request, present HAGS with a copy of documents indicating how inspection and maintenance procedures have been conducted. Upon request, defective or non-conforming parts must be returned to HAGS.
HAGS will within a reasonable time and in its sole discretion repair or replace such defective or non-conforming products by providing replace-ment products or parts free of charge to the site. HAGS' limited warranties do not cover the cost of labor to remove defective or nonconforming parts or to install repaired or replacement parts.
All warranty periods begin on the date of HAGS' invoice. Repaired and/or replacement parts are warranted only for the balance of the original limited warranty. All warranties extend only to the original Purchaser of products from HAGS or itsauthorized reseller and are not transferrable.These limited warranties apply only to HAGS products that are erected and installed in conformance with HAGS installationinstructions, and that are maintained and inspected in conformance with HAGS maintenance and operational instructions.

Any disputes, claims or controversies arising outof or relating to this warranty shall be settled anddetermined by binding arbitration conducted at a location decided by HAGS.
Purchaser, by acceptance and use of this limited warranty, waives any rights it would otherwise have to claim or assert that this limited warranty fails of its essential purpose.

SAFETYA well-functioning safety standard has been developed with the aim of creating as safe a playground environment as possible without loosing the value of play, and thus its attraction. Our products meet the safety requirements of standard ASTM F1487, CPSC, and are listed on IPEMA’s website, www.ipema.org.
SPACE REQUIREMENTSThe safety areas for each piece of equipment are according to the ASTM and CPSC standards.
SHOCK-ABSORBING SURFACEImpact surface materials must, in terms of proper-ties and thicknesses, meet the requirements of ASTM and CPSC. The material must be arranged so that water drains away to the required degree.

General informationLoose fill material such as sand, gravel, bark and wood chips:For sand and gravel, HAGS recommends a frac-tion between 0.02" and 0.2" which should also be evenly distributed. Fractions for other material, ASTM and CPSC.
ASSEMBLY SPECIFICATIONSTransportation requirements and environmental considerations mean that HAGS play equipment is delivered in one of three ways:• Unassembledkit,e.g.swingset.• Pre-assembledsections,e.g.playsystem.• Moreorlessfullyassembledunits,e.g.spring
riders.
ANCHORINGFor safety, stability and theft prevention, the play equipment needs to be properly secured. The most important reason is to prevent serious accidents and injuries caused by inadequately anchored equipment.
HAGS play equipment is supplied for different types of ground installation:• Prefabricatedgroundanchoring.Unless
otherwise stated, anchoring must be performed in sand/gravel material.
• Anchoringaboveground,againstaconcrete slab, etc.
• Anchoringthroughsunkenfoundation.
Some products require ground anchoring with cast-in-place concrete. The casting components are fixed in place before concrete work starts. The strength of the concrete should correspond to at least the requirements for each product. Concrete work must be carried out by personnel with the required expertise.
For ground anchoring in loose fill material such as bark, wood chips, etc., deeper foundations will be required. Contact your HAGS representative.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONSTo ensure that the play equipment is installed safely and correctly, The assembly work must be carried out in full compliance with the assembly instructions that are included in all products from HAGS. The equipment must be installed by quali-fied professionals. The failure to install equipment according to assembly instructions can involve safety hazards and may render the warranty null and void.
If additional assembly instructions are required, please contact your HAGS representative.
In order to prevent accidents, access to the area must be totally restricted until the assembly work has been fully completed.
ASSEMBLY TIMEHAGS assembly time ís calculated so one man-hour is equivalent to the amount of work performed by the average worker in one hour. HAGS recommends two quality professionals per installation. For HAGS Arena three quality professionals are recommended.
INSPECTIONOnce assembly work has been completed and the play equipment is securely and safely in place, it has to be inspected with regard to safety, functional performance and assembly. Any
deviations must always be dealt with before the equipment is used.

Inspections must always be based on the degree of use and the type of product. Recommenda-tions refer to normal use. In playgrounds with an intensive visit frequency, the interval should be reduced and adapted as required. Information on both inspection and maintenance are also speci-fied in the assembly instructions that accompany the product.
MAINTAINING HAGS WOODSTAINED WOOD PRODUCTSProper maintenance is essential to preserve the appearance and functional properties of wood. The time interval and choice of maintenance methods depend on the location of the equip-ment and the amount of use it gets. Before starting maintenance work, it is necessary to assess the state of the surface finish. Surfaces with fairly little mechanical damage and a film-coating that is otherwise intact are repaired using method A) a transparent stain. Surfaces with ex-tensive damage to the film-coating are repaired using method B) a solid colour (pigmented).
A. TRANSPARENT WOODSTAINDo not work in direct sunlight or at temperatures below +50°F.1. Clean the old surface or damaged area thoroughly with pre-paint cleaner. Rinse care- fully with water. Clean between the boards wherever necessary so that moisture run-off works properly.
2. Let the surface dry until the moisture content is not above 18%. 3. Scrape or sand the damaged (black) areas to remove loose paint and then apply two coats of oil primer. Or treat the entire surface. Let it dry between applications. 4. Leave to dry for at least 4 hours at a tempera-ture of +50°F or above.5. Then apply two coats of woodstain to the damaged areas or until the correct color is achie-ved. It may be necessary to apply a final coat to the entire surface. Let it dry between applications. 6. Leave to dry for at least 4 hours at a tempera-ture of +50°F or above.
B. SOLID COLOR WOODSTAINDo not work in direct sunlight or at temperatures below +50°F.1. Clean the old surface or damaged area thoroughly with pre-paint cleaner. Rinse carefully with water. Clean between the boards wherever necessary so that moisture run-off works pro-perly.2. Let the surface dry until the moisture content is not above 18%.3. Scrape or sand the damaged (black) areas to remove loose paint and then apply two coats of oil primer. Or treat the entire surface. Let it dry between applications.4. Although the pigments of our solid color woodstains have been specially developed to match our transparent woodstain shades, slight differences may arise, as it is technically impos-sible to guarantee a 100% match at all times.

IMPROVING POWDER COATED STEEL COMPONENTSHAGS touch-up paint should be used to repair any damage to powder coated surfaces. Mini-mum temperature +50°F. Do not work in direct sunlight.
1. Carefully sand rough edges around the damaged area.2. Use white spirit to clean the area.3. Apply touch-up paint and leave to dry for 8 hours.

MATERIAL RECYCLINGThe raw materials in HAGS products are chosen on the basis of their technical performance and their environmental impact during the full course of their service life. The majority of products con-sist of different materials that can be separated quite simply for recycling.
