Hair Growth Olive oil is known to be one of the best natu- ral remedies for promoting the growth of good hair and skin and overall body health. This is because olive oil is rich in polyphenols which have anti bacterial and anti fungal prop- erties. Hence, some of the most effective home remedies for hair involve the use of olive oil as it leaves the hair looking healthier and more manageable. Olive oil hair treatment not only benefits the hair but also results in the scalp becom- ing cleaner. Olive oil hair conditioning is apt for curly or very dry hair as it tends to smoothen out frizzy and dry hair but does not leave any build up which is found in other hair conditioning treatments. Hence, plenty of people even use olive oil as a serum to tame frizzy hair. = Remedies for Falling Hair One of the common olive oil hair reme- dies for hair re-growth involves mixing one beaten egg in 3/4 cup of olive oil and then applying this mixture to the hair after it is shampooed and is still wet. This mixture should be allowed to remain on the hair for at least 45 minutes before washing it off with a mild shampoo. Thus not only is olive oil good for hair growth but it is also used as an excellent conditioner that also aids in increasing hair vol- ume. Some people find that using only olive oil for a hair massage tends to get too heavy; in such cases they may mix equal parts of olive oil and coconut oil to get dual benefits. Extra virgin olive oil for hair growth is found to be most effective as it has the highest levels of vitamin E and mono-unsaturated fatty acids which act as antioxidants and promote hair growth. Olive oil is also known to have emollient properties thereby minimizing hair loss and factors causing hair loss such as dandruff. Olive oil hair re-growth treatment involves the regular use of olive oil directly on the hair and on the scalp as it helps solves the problem of brittle hair and also regularly massaging the scalp with olive oil tends to stimulate the scalp and promote hair growth. = Olive Oil For Lice Treatment A lesser known fact about olive oil is that it is also effective in tacking the problem of hair lice without the agony and irritation associated with other commercial hair lice removal products. Additionally, olive oil also improves the elasticity of hair and pre- vents hair breakage. Rajitha Rupesinghe and his fantastic set up, Misty, from Sri Lanka, were playing to a sell-out crowd, just minutes away, at Springvale Town Hall, for the Lions Club event. But this did little to deter people from shuttling from one venue to the other, mainly due to Ruwanal’s popularity and reputation as a top chef and party animal in the Melbourne entertain- ment scene. Ruwanal’s party drew over 200 friends and family - some travelling from overseas just to be there to grace the important occasion. Part of the night’s entertainment was the two-piece combo of Chris Mant and Cameron Colombege, from Replay 6, who generally teame up and perform when the band is inactive. The duo kept the crowd on their feet with some wonderful music and the infu- sion of guest artiste, legendary Desmond De Silva, later in the night, really hotted things up. Live entertainment was interspersed by music provided by very popular DJ Ashley, who has been a livewire in the Melbourne entertainment scene for a number of years. Ruwanal’s wife, Philomena, left no stone unturned to make the night com- plete by hiring a Papare band, appar- ently a feature close to Ruwanal’s heart, to make the night’s entertainment complete. Popular Chef Riza Muthaliph and his East- West catering group provided a sumptuous meal for the night. Perhaps, there would have been a few occa- sions where, just a day or two, before action time, one would have seen the ‘sold out’ board. But, two weeks in advance! Well, that’s the scene where The Island/Sunday Island-sponsored Sing-Along event, organized by Rhythm World Dance Studio, is concerned. This much-talked-about event takes place on Sunday, June 15th, 2014, but tickets were snapped up a week ago. And folks still keep calling Shiromi Perera, the Directress of Rhythm World Dance Studio, indicating their eagerness to be a part of this scene. “I’m glad that my events are crowd-pullers,” said Shiromi, adding that she has plans to oblige those who missed out on getting tickets for the June 15th event. “Sohan & The X-Periments will be leaving for Australia this month and, I believe, they would be away for over a month. “On their return, I will see if Sohan can spare me a date for another Sing-Along.” What makes the Rhythm World Dance Studio events very successful is because of the ability of the organizing committee, and the students, to cre- ate exiting evenings, and to come up with novel ideas. Sohan says he has already mapped out his strate- gy for June 15th and he wants the ticket holders to come prepared to show their singing talents. “Whatever your style of singing is, just let your voice be heard,” says Sohan. There will also be a session for dance enthusi- asts, and it’s at this point that you would get to see the talented students of Rhythm World Dance Studio in action. I have seen them do it on the dance floor and I know, for sure, they will mesmerize you with their rhythm, style and movement. Ok, the scene is set for Sunday, June 15th, 2014, at The Grand Monarch Hotel, 527/7, Pannipitiya Road, Thalawathugoda, from 6.30 pm onwards. Remember, your ticket includes entrance, song book, food and drink. And of course The Island/Sunday Island will be there, as media spon- sors.
