SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT

The blossoming buds of the School of Management have started their path to

success. CORONATION 2k19, One day National Level Management Meet is a

flagship event which was organized on 27th

Feb 2019 by the students of School of

Management for young entrepreneurs and the budding managers in various

domains. This mega event provides a platform to students from all parts of the

country to exhibit their managerial talent by participating in various state-of-art

competitions crafted to showcase their proficiency, share their thoughts, be the

part of various activities, take part in various sort of competitions, and enjoy the

fullest.

On 30th

Mar. 2019, Dr.A Rajesh Principal, CAHCET unveiled the Magnum Opus

– a Souvenir of CORONATION‟19. Our Principal highlighted the significance of

Management discipline and also lauded our MBA students about their dedication,

patience, teamwork and coordination in Organizing many formal occasions.

Shahi Sachi Sanjeev (IVyear), Dhilip and Nizamuddin (III year) students

demonstrated their drone model in Project Expo at Islamia boys Higher secondary

school, on 10.02.2019.

III year students attended the Aero India 2019, an Air show conducted by the

Department of Defense Production and Ministry of Civil Aviation on 22-Feb 2019

and 23-Feb 2019.

M. Suriya of III year secured 1st place in “Online Photography” conducted by

Jeppiaar SRR Engineering College and also won 2nd prize in the event „STATIC

SNAPS (photography)‟ of National Level Technical symposium-PULSE‟18 held

at Sri Venkateswara college of Engineering. He also won 1st place in

„Photography event‟ in Eloquence‟18.

DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

51 technical papers were presented by civil students at various National level

Technical symposia and they won 19 best paper awards.

Our Students won the Overall Championship in Sports in inter - department

conducted by the college.

Our department organized a National Conference in “Advances in Civil and

Environmental Engineering-2019 (AICEE-19) on 14.03.2019.

Our Final Year Students have been Placed In P.V.S Constructions Chennai.

DEPARTMENT OF COMUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

A two day workshop on ARDUINO was conducted by the core team of Altsense,

Chennai exclusively for students of II Year on Thursday 10 Jan 2019 and

Saturday 11 Jan 2019. The program commenced at 9.00 am at the Technology

Tower, Lab 8. The Chief Resource Person was Mr. Mohamed Iliyas, Founder,

Altsense and he was well supported by the core team members of Altsense. 62

students attended the Program.

The Department organized one day guest lecture on “UI/UX Design and

Development Career Guidance” in association with ICAT Design and Media

College, Chennai on 29.01.2019.

The Department organized One Day Workshop on “Machine Learning and

Artificial Intelligence” in association with Aspirant Research Hub,

Chennai on 02.02.2019 for third year students.

Robotics is an inter-disciplinary branch of engineering and science that includes

mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, information engineering ,

computer science engineering and others. It involves the conception, design,

manufacturing and operation of robots. It deals with design, construction, and

computer systems for their control sensor feedback and information processing. In

today‟s world, it is the latest trending technology which the students need to learn.

So, this workshop was arranged for second year and third year students on 29 and

30 Jan. 2019. Students showed their interested and involvement during the hands-

on training.

Nayeemur Rahman, Rishi Kumar, Mohammed kabir , Prakash.A and Mohammed

Talha won Second place in JIT HACKATHON#2.0 at Jeppiaar Institue of

A Project Expo 2019 was organized by the Department of Computer Science and

Engineering on 13-03-19 in Technology tower, CAHCET. Around 20 projects

were presented in the Expo. Projects was judged by Dr. C. Md Yousuff, Associate

Professor from ECE department and Mr. K. Md Abdul Kader, Associate Professor

from IT department .

“Ideathon 2019” a Project Competition was organized by SRM Institute of

Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus on 15-03-2019. Our third year

students developed a project called fire fighting robot and won the first prize.

Mohammed kabir .S, Mohammed Talha and Vishnu Rudhva .K.S of III year have

won Second place in IBM Open Power #AI4Good HACKATHON [INVENTO

3.0] at SSN College of Engineering on 21th and 22nd Sep. 2018.

Our Department organized a two day industrial visit for third year students to

RADIO ASTRONOMY CENTRE (TIFR), OOTY on 11/08/2018 and 12.8.2018.

Our Department organized a two day industrial visit for II year students to BSNL

(RTTC), Chennai on 18.08.2018.

Sixty five students of final year along with 2 faculties made a two day industrial

visit to RADIO ASTRONOMY CENTRE (TIFR), OOTY on 13.8.2018 and

14.8.2018.

Sangavi of ME Applied Electronics presented a paper in IEEE International

Conference (ViTCoN 19) entitled Human Activity Recognition for Ambient

Assisted Living organized by VIT, Vellore on 30 & 31st March 2019.

“Technglitz”, a Technical symposium was organized on 15th

Our department has successfully intiated Redhat linux academy and almost 55

members have registered in it.

Our department has also successfully initiated a professional society CSI at the

beginning of the semester and 20 members have registered in it.

Enduro Student India(ESI) team of our department was appreciated and awarded

A Guest Lecture Programme on "New Product Development and Sustenances

Engineering" was held on 02.03.2019. Mr.SyedBasheerullahHussaini, Design

Engineer at L& T Technology Service, Chennai was the Chief Guest.

Inauguration of Renewable Energy Club(REC) was held in the department on

02.03.2019. It was Inaugurated by Mr.K.Boopathi, Director & Division Head

(R&D), National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) and he delivered the Guest

Lecture to our Students.

Programme (E-SEP) organized by Anna University held at Eswar Engineering

College, Coimbatore from 15.2.2019 to 26.02.2019. It was jointly conducted by

A team of Twenty six mechanical students designed & fabricated a vehicle to

participate in “Enduro Student India(ESI) -2019” competition held at Pune from

14th to 19th February 2019.

A Project Expo was organized by the college at Islamiah Boys Hr. Sec.School on

10.02.2019. Our Mechanical students displayed their projects in this expo.

Our Department conducted One day seminar on "Matlab Software for Mechanical

Engineering" for Third year students on 11.02.19. Mr.C.Boopalan, Associate

Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering of our college was the key note

speaker.

A Two Day Workshop on "Automotive Technology" was organized by the

department on 8.2.2019 & 9.2.2019. It was conducted by Goodwin Motors,

chennai.

Department has signed MoU with Goodwin Motors(Industry Oriented Skill

Developing Training Company), Chennai on 09.02.2019

Fifteen Final year students participated in Skill Development Program (Institution

to Industry) conducted by Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology

held at TPGIT, Vellore from 4.2.2019 to 6.2.2019.

Professor Dr.D.Kumar was the Chief Guest at Sri Venkateshwara Polytechnic

College, Vellore on 25.01.2019. He delivered a guest lecture to Mechanical

students.

CENTRAL LIBRARY

Library is the “Heart of Education”. It stores, disseminates knowledge to the

user community (student & staff) for their needs and to retrieve them in the least possible

time.

At present we have 37, 947 books and 142 National and International Journals.

Magazine subscription has been renewed for the current academic year.

Library.

More E-books are added and available for use with our Digital Library. At present,

we have 4035 E-books.
