This project was challenging. I had forgot how to use the pro-grams such as InDesign and Photoshop. It was also fun mak-ing something from scratch and seeing that you can go from a blank page to something so creative.

I love this picture! I think it is at a really cool angle, showing all the people praying around the flag pole. It was challeng-ing to have to sneak around people with out disturbing the prayer. It was also my first beat so i was pretty shy, believe it or not.

I really liked coving basket ball as a beat because i always got great pictures. This picture has the blur effect added to it. It was really hard, trying to figure out how to edit the photo without being to dramatic or too simple.

I learned the process of how to make the person in color and the background black and white. This is my favorite thing to do in photoshop because its easy and its fun. At first i had no idea what i was doing but then i used my resources and looked up a how-to video.

Going to this lunch and trying to get really good pictures was one of the hardest things i have had to do. It was hard because the kids in the club really didnt interact or do any-thing interesting, which made it hard for me to get a good picture to turn in. i think i grew from this experience.

Practice Makes Perfect October beat- Woman’s Basketball by Haley Hansen

Swish after swish, player after player was hard at work practicing for their first game on Tuesday, November 4th. When the whistle blew all the girls partnered up and dispersed throughout the gym to their own basketball hoop. Warm-up consisted of practicing different basketball shots and shooting 20 free-throws. Courtney Jones (10) and her partner Madison McClain (11), practiced free throws, making it into a fun compe-tition. McClain said, “The worst thing in the world is repeating the same boring warm up every practice. Court-ney and I love playing games like H-O-R-S-E or P-I-G. The warm-up is much more fun and gets our competi-tive juices flowing.”

As the players take their shots, Coach Mahon is watching. Jones said, “It’s an honor playing for a coach who is so dedicated and committed to the program. She really knows what she’s talking about and is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. I’m very lucky.”

After the players take their warm-up shots, they participate in a group stretch led by team captain Savannah Walker (12). When asked what she hopes to bring to the team this year and how she feels about the start or the season, Walker said, “I hope to bring energy and strength. I’m very excited for the season! We have a smaller team this year and i think because of that we will be a lot closer and stronger. It will be cool to see how we grow together and what we can accomplish.”

This was my second beat i wrote. It is my favotite one i have ever written. I think it shows my writting ability as a “yerd” in training. It was definately a struggle having to fit the quotes in to the copy but i think i made it work.

I really love this photo. it was extramly easy to edit this pic-ture and make a good picture great. Once i used the ed-iting program for a few days i got the hang of it and was able to use the blur and they color change effects very easy.

This was my first week in Panther Tales. I thought at the time, when i was making this logo it was really good, but now that i look at it i realize how bad it actually is. This was my first time using any of the programs. It was a good ex-perience and learning process making this logo.

This was my first ever cut out. I realized that it takes a ton of patience to cut someone out of a picture, and make it look good. I liked that we had a week to try out skills and make cut outs to become better. I think that week of practice really helped me.

I took this photo at the first basketball practice I attend-ed. I edited this photo using photoshop. It was easy to edit compared to a cutout but because i was new to the program i didnt know how to edit a photo on pho-toshop. Since we editied the photos in class i feel much more comfortable and am able to use the program much faster and acuratly.
