Halloween Chocolate Covered Strawberries Ingredients: strawberries, washed and picked over - look for large, firm berries with long stems - these work best for dipping 1/2 lb milk, dark or white chocolate wafers (we used mostly white and a little milk chocolate) - you can find these in the baking aisle of your grocery store Halloween sprinkles coconut oil, optional and not always required Directions: Place a sheet of wax or parchment paper on a cookie sheet and set aside. Place chocolate wafers in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave on low for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between until melted. While chocolate is melting, pour sprinkles in a small bowl and set aside. Hold strawberry by stem, and carefully dip into melted chocolate, being sure to cover all sides. Remove from chocolate, and slowly turn, allowing excess chocolate to drip o. Place chocolate covered strawberry on prepared cookie sheet, and allow to cool completely. Once strawberries are dried, melt some more chocolate and decorate as you wish. If you're going to dip the berries in sprinkles, immediately dip chocolate covered strawberry in prepared sprinkle bowl, being sure to cover all sides. Place sprinkle coved strawberry on prepared cookie sheet and allow to cool completely. If you want to change the color of your chocolate, to make orange or green chocolate covered strawberries, start by adding 1-2 drops of food coloring gel with the chocolate wafers before melting. Alternatively, and this is what my grandma did, is either at your local grocery store, or Walmart and definitely at Michael's or Joann's, you can buy already colored chocolate wafers.
