Halloween Weekend 2010Dave & Laura’s trip to a Bit of Heaven and back…

Arriving at Bit of Heaven Ranch we were greeted by Dale, shown around and

watched the horses being fed.

Our hostess, Dale, with Laura and the miniature horses Hearts & Stormy.

Laura & I headed out to ChÂteau Morrisette for some wine tasting and

fun!

After the winery we headed to Mabry Mill and had some dinner after walking around

the sights at the mill.

On the way back up the driveway to Bit of Heaven Ranch at sunset….

Sunday morning we got up and had breakfast. We said our farewells to our

wonderful hostess & Host, Dale & Paul. We stopped and took a few pictures on the way

out of the driveway.

The Day was full of Stopping and taking pictures at different locations along the

Blue Ridge Parkway.

And the Scenic Overlooks were breath taking and fun…at one of the overlooks we

came across this ….

The owner of this 1940 Ford used to drive the Moonshine runs for Bob Smith when he was just 16 years old. He

could carry up to 25 cases of ‘Shine’ but had trouble

outrunning the law with that many cases. 15 cases was a safer amount to out run the

law.

Back to more overlooks and break areas…

Do they ever end?

Yes they do..well for this trip they end near Blowing Rock, NC.
