:: of the C.I.O. in Ottumwa. He helped oth8l' companies to organize such , .. the Drain (which later became the John Deere Works at .Ottumwa) and Jarkers. He was vice president of the Iowa-Nebraska Conference. Be .orked for the improvement of safety law! and compensation .. an unpaid a.bbyist. He sold r oad construction equipment for lifteen years, was Weed (.ct!Imissioner for Dubuque in 1972 and 1973, and was working for an .sph.lt paving company In Dubuque when he entered the legislature.

}. Democrat , Mr. Clark served as State Representative from Dubuque a. the Sixty-tilth General Aaae.mbly. Be waa ~leeted for tbe Sixty-sixth (;tneral A5IIembly but died before he could take office.

lIr. Clark died of cancer in University Hospital, Iowa City, Odober 8, U; ~. He donated his body to the University Hospital and his eyes to the Ere Bank. Memorial services were held in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oa buque, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his son, David. Surviving are hie wife, Mary Louise; three daughters, Mra. David J ohnson of Montpelier, Mrs. Dale narpe of Bellevue, and Catherine Clark of Florence, Oregon; a son, Pat­ritk of Iowa City; two brothers, Phillip of Peru, Indiana, and Frank of O'.tul!lwa; two sisters, Mrs. James Welsh of Cedar Rapids, and Mr!!. Mary 'Jalker of Davenport, and lifteen gnndcbUdren.
