Quakers Hill High School Parent InformationMeeting – Year 7 2019-20

Our partner high school invites all prospective families ofstudents in Years 5 & 6 to attend an information meeting onTuesday 13th March at 7:00pm in the hall.

This evening is designed to inform interested students and theirparents of the educational programs and facilities at QuakersHill High School and assist them in making a smooth andharmonious transition to high school.

It is important for Year 5 parents to start talking about theopportunities and making these decisions this year as the highschool expression of interest form is always completed byfamilies during Term 1 2019. I strongly encourage parents andstudents to attend this meeting to assist them in making thisvery important decision.

Student Assistance

We realise this time of year can be financially demanding.Families who are having difficulties paying for school activitiesare encouraged to seek support through our studentassistance money. This money is available to ensure studentsare not disadvantaged by financial hardship, which can occurat any time.

If you would like to discuss this, please ring me on 98373200. Alternatively you can email me [email protected] or make an appointment to seeme.

Parking on School Grounds

I am concerned that a small number of parents are continuingto park in our staff car park. While I understand parking aroundschool drop off and pick up times can be busy there is noexcuse for parents accessing our car park unless you have anagreed arrangement with myself. We have a few families forhealth and disability reasons I have granted access to our carpark.

Additionally walking students through the car park is adangerous practice and I encourage you to use the safepathways when exiting out school grounds.

Please work with us to keep all our students safe.

I thought the day was great. It was fun to go on a big walk inthe sun. It was so positive to see so many families and childrenwho also have type 1 diabetes. Some teams had a fun theme, like “Will’s Warriors” and team GEM. It was lovely to walk withour bears and my uncle’s dog, Archie. Thank you to everyonewho supported our family as we raised awareness and moneyfor Type 1 diabetes.

Huff, Puff! I could feel the sweat on my forehead. I walkedthrough the bush and up some hills. I was starting to feel hotand tired at the half way point. I kept walking until the finish lineand walked under the water fountain to cool off.

On Sunday, 3rd December my sister and I participated in a walkto help turn type 1 diabetes into type none diabetes. It was lotsof fun walking with my bears. Go team Slater Bears!!

Thank you to everyone who supported us and donated money.I personally appreciate all that you gave.
