Music
Hampton Daze visited Camp Bisco this summer, which is a three-day camping and music adventure located in upstate New York. We were overwhelmed with non-stop music, workshops, and an endless variety of artist and food vendors. With todays growing interest in elec-tronic music, it’s no wonder that so many people flock to this festival every year to see talented, well known artists as well as bands that are just hitting the music scene.
Bassnectar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, STS9, Animal Collective, and of course Disco Biscuits were a few of over 75 musical groups that graced the four stages. We wormed our way through the crowds
Camp BiscoCamp BiscoBy Melanie Fitzgerald
of people to the front row of Passion Pit (photo left) on Saturday. Their set was epic and fans screamed their hearts out as they heard their favorites played over an incredible sound system.
Besides the music, this place is famous for its uniquely dressed campers who wear anything and ev-erything they want with no judgment (kind of like Hal-loween in the summer). We saw everything from big, furry animal costumes to fairy wings, and of course a
lot of tie-dyed shirts. We actually thought it would be fun to keep a count of all the people
we saw wearing capes and tails and by the end of the festival we lost count. Artists from all over the country also use this weekend as a great opportunity to sell their homemade crafts, including jewelry, paintings, sculptures, and 3D printed souvenirs. Workshops included body painting, hula hooping, sonic healing and meditation, concert lighting, yoga and tee shirt redesign. There was so much to do and see here in just three days that we couldn’t fit everything in. Consensus is that we are definitely going back!
NEW!! Stop by the harbor’s most popular spot, SAMMY’S! Located next door, serving lunch and dinner daily, featuring fresh fish and seafood, overlooking the harbor. Great place for a cold drink on a hot evening, too!

When the recession hit everyone back a few years ago a lot of people decided to follow their entrepreneurial dreams. I did in starting FameHampton and another brave woman was Autumn Hawk. Autumn Hawk Clothing was born out of the vision of celebrity designer Au-tumn Hawk who always had a niche for fashion. When she first started she thought there would be a small following to begin with. Her first collection created an immediate buzz and celebrities and fashionistas were wearing her designs almost immediately. The demand for her line was so great that it was sold in over thirty stores nationwide and that momentum kept going up until this year when Autumn changed her focus. The internet has given way to many fashion sites where clothes and shoes can be bought so she decided to focus more on the internet sales. All of her clothing is manufactured in New York and you can check out her line at www.AutumnHawkNewYork.com
It’s great to see women empowering other women and someone who has hit my radar is Jennifer Nicole Lee. Lee is an American fit-ness model and author who hails from New York and currently resides in Miami. She struggled with weight issues all her life and after having two kids she decided enough was enough. In 1996 she was crowned “Miss Bikini America” and has appeared on over 44 magazine covers, has her own company JNL, Inc. Worldwide and has published an array of books which include “The Mind, Body & Soul Diet: Your Complete Transformational Guide to Health, Healing Happiness” and “The Jenni-fer Nicole Lee Fun Fit Foodie Cookbook.” In 2006 she was named “Ms. Muscle and Fitness” by Muscle & Fitness Magazine and has appeared on a variety of talk shows. In 2012 CBS News named her “America’s Sexiest Fitness Mom.” She has her own gym and street wear line called JNL Clothing Line and her trademark is “Strong is the new skinny.” She was out here in the Hamptons at a private estate where she lead her JNL Fusion Workout where women and men got to participate and meet her. You can check her out on www.JenniferNicoleLee.com.
From Manhattan to Montauk, women are often seeking out a make-up artist who can transform their blank facial canvas into a work of art and Danielle Minnella does that! Danielle is an accomplished and published makeup artist who has an obsession for creating radiant skin with an approach that is modern and flawless. Her flair for art and her love of oil painting led her to paint on faces. Her ability to bring out ones beauty leaves her clients feeling confident both on and off camera. The art world has some very talented artists who create such beauty with the flow of their brush strokes and Danielle mimics this same skill. Danielle currently works with press for media events, make-up for photographic sessions, editorial and media production makeup as well as makeup for the everyday woman. She has worked with many recognizable faces and her work has been seen in many productions including CBS, VH1, MTV, Entertainment Tonight and The Daily Show. She is one of the most sought after makeup artists in the industry because of her professionalism, vibrant personality mixed with her peaceful energy and impeccable eye for detail. She is available for pri-vate consultations in her makeup studio as well as on location. Danielle can travel domestically or internationally. Her portfolio can be viewed at www.danielleminnella.com as well as www.themakeuploftny.com.
Real estate is hot and doing well especially in the Water Mill office of NestSeekers International. John Brady is the top producer there and since 2006 has attained over 450 real estate transactions and averages 50-70 new transactions every year with the national average being 4 to 6 per year. He studies the market like a stockbroker studies stocks and says, “As an expert, it’s my responsibility to know the num-bers.” He has been featured in various media outlets and was chosen to participate in The Real Deal’s annual golf tournament. His wife Paty Brady has joined the team and was a top banker with JP Morgan Chase. She has studied the trends and markets along with John and her vast experience in the financial field and the contacts she has made only adds to the success of the team. She is a college graduate and both are bilingual in Spanish with Paty also knowing French and Italian which helps in doing business with clients from other countries. You can check them both out on www.nestseekers.com.
You can check out FameHampton on Facebook and online and see the video interviews with various celebrities and people in the Hamptons. If you have any inquiries about us or Sabato/Davin Produc-tions, please email me at [email protected].

Gurney’s Spa DayGurney’s Spa DayBy Jessica Mackin
Gurney's Inn in Montauk offers a wide variety of spa treatments. From touch therapy to aromatherapy, massages to thalasso treat-ments, Gurney's has it all when it comes to spa-ing in the Hamptons.
I tried the XMF Facial from Phytomer recently and it was amaz-ing. The facial is done to promote anti-aging. Phytomer is a leader in marine cosmetics which fits the Gurney's Spa concept perfectly. Gurney's is the only Sea Water Spa in the United States that offers signature Thalasso therapies and uses sea water in the olympic sized indoor heated pool and Roman bath. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and rejuvenating facial.
To enjoy the full Gurney's experience I would suggest going early, an hour or two before your treatment is scheduled. This way you can use the pool, the Roman bath, the steam room, the sauna, the sun deck, or the fitness center all to relax before your treatment. Throw on one of Gurney's plush robes, take a shot of sea water, and enjoy!

When it comes to invasive and non-invasive medical cosmetic pro-cedures there are two groups of people. The first group, are those who research the latest trend in technology, know where to find it, and who is the best. The second group, are the curious people considering medi-spa, laser, or surgical procedures. But with so much technology available, it's no wonder most people are afraid to start exploring. Through our own experiences, word-of-mouth, and our readers opinions, consumers thrive over the medi-spa and laser centers that made it to our top 5. Thanks to our readers and friends for your votes!

NewYork.com invited Hampton Daze to a VIP Broadway experience. The show, Broadway's new high-heeled hit, Kinky Boots. The experi-ence, attending an exclusive cocktail event, getting preferred seats and an up close and personal discussion with the cast.
Broadway theaters are looking to enhance the way audiences ex-perience shows by becoming more interactive and engaged. Through NewYork.com’s Connected to Broadway series, ticket-holders have the opportunity to experience their favorite shows like a true New York insider.
Kinky Boots won the Tony award for best musical for 2013 along with five other Tony awards. The story goes, Charlie Price (Tony nomi-
nee Stark Sands) has suddenly inherited his father’s shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father’s legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola (Tony winner Billy Porter). A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he’s meant to be. At the end the show received a standing ovation. The entire evening’s experience was spectacular.
NewYork.com is also using this opportunity give back to the com-munity that is such an integral part of New York by donating a percent-age of proceeds to Broadway Cares. The Hampton Classic Horse Show will be wrapping up with its Grand Prix weekend and equestrian fans will come in droves to see this amazing horse show that takes place each year. When you think of horses you think of other pets like dogs that can usually be seen around the stables with their owners and the horses. There are a lot of people who give their time to animal causes and this summer you definitely saw a lot of them!
One such person is Doctor Cindy Bresslerwho has been practicing since 1994 and is also the founder of Hamptons Canine Concierge and partner of JetSetVets. They are the first private jet veterinary pet service created by Doctor Cindy Bressler in partnership with Blue Star Jets and Todd Rome, President of the luxury air travel firm. After years of being commissioned to accompany pets in their travels and provide
in-flight medical care, Doctor Bressler approached Blue Star Jets since they have always been pet friendly. With the growing de-mand for intricate in-flight pet care, the match made sense. JetSetVets provides medical care, travel document preparation and works with
veterinary hospitals globally. Emergency medical protocols for dogs and cats are in place and there is a pet CPR trained nurse aboard. JetSetVets donates proceeds of flights booked to animal charities worldwide. Doctor Bressler is available for 24 hour emergencies out in the Hamptons and New York City. You can find out more about her at www.drcindybressler.com
Veterinarians are at the front lines of animal welfare and it’s good to know that both the North and South Forks are covered. East End Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (EEVESC) is one such facility. They are a specialized emergency, critical care, and referral facility for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. In addition to their emergency services, there are specialists available for services not often thought of when caring for pets. Veterinarians may refer their fur-patients just as physicians refer human patients and work in close cooperation with the specialists to assure comprehensive medical sup-port of their patients.
The staff of PET-ER is caring and professional and always have their patient’s best interest as the top priority. Some of their special-ties include dermatology, physical rehabilitation, dentistry, ultrasound imaging, cardiology, and oncology.

Fried Softshell Crab & Orange Sesame Slaw
By Chef Joe CiproMethodStart by heating the oil you will need to fry the soft shell crab. If you
do not have a small tabletop fryer for your home you will need a candy thermometer and a large deep saucepot.
Clean the softshell crab by snipping off the front area where the eyes are with a scissor. Flip the side of the shell up and clean out the gills. There is a flap on the underside of the crab indicating male or female. Cut that off and the crab is ready to be breaded and fried.
Mix the flour, panko, seasoning and corn starch to make the bread-ing. Whisk the eggs with one cup of water and you have your crab breading.
Whisk together the oj, crème fraiche, sour, cream, mayonnaise,
Frying Ingredients4 soft shell crabs

honey, lime juice, and sesame oil to make your coleslaw dressing. Toss the shaved cabbage and carrots together with the dressing, the cilantro, salt and pepper.
Mix the dressing ingredients together for the sauce to dress the crab after it has been fried. To fry the crabs, dip them in the egg mix and coat in the breading. Fry at 350 degrees for two minutes on each side. Place the crab on a bed of the mixed slaw.
