Inspect the WinchCheck for the correct direction of rotation on the winch barrel before using the winch. Occasionally check the bolts andwinch line to ensure they are in correct working order. Become familiar with the winch mechanism prior to using it to lift a tent.
OperationTurn the crank of the winch by hand only to ensure no unwarrented stress is placed on the winch. When using the winch,always keep a minimum of 4 coils of line on the barrel to supply proper friction; otherwise the line may pull loose from the drum.
Be SafeWhile opperating the winch, be sure to: Keep hands and fingers away from the winch line and apparatus. Have any nearby people stay away from the winch line and load area.
DO NOT load the winch beyond its rated capacity (based on one layer of line around the drum).
DO NOT attach the winch to a load of unknown weight, as you may break the winch.
DO NOT use the winch to lift people / lift objects over people.
DO NOT attach the winch’s line to itself by wrapping it around objects.
