1) Introduction
4) Determination of conceptual slope remedial works
5) Conclusions
1. In determining the conceptual slope remedial work, we need to
have the preliminary description of the site condition
2. Therefore, to obtain preliminary description of the site condition,
we need to carry out DESK STUDY and SITE RECONNAISSANCE
3. Desk study usually will provide information obtained through
written medium like internet, published paper, map and etc.
4. Site reconnaissance can provide information on the following;
Type of Slope
slope to failed.
– Tension cracks
– Bulging effect
– Wall Tilting
channeling surface runoff and seepage
water to a point of disposal.
2. Drainage system on slope includes :
– Cut-off drain
– Berm Drain
– Toe Drain
– Cascade Drain
– Horizontal Drain

planar fracture
the displacement associated with the
opening of the fracture is greater than the
displacement due to lateral movement in the plane of the fracture of one side relative to the
other

Foliation is repetitive layering in metamorphic rocks . Each layer may be
as thin as a sheet of paper, or over a meter in
thickness.
FOLIATION
Bedding is the smallest division of a geologic formation or stratigraphic rock series marked by well-defined divisional
planes (bedding planes) separating it from layers above and below

1. There are three types of rock slope failure
which are:
WEATHERING GRADE
ROCK BOULDERS
is a rock with grain size of usually no less than 300 millimetres
(12 in) diameter
has sliding surface.

3. Detail site investigation need to be carry out
to gather slope information for modeling and
analysis. Hence, proper slope remedial &
optimum cost of construction could be
determined
