Our Aluminium window range offers an easy care modern alternative

to PVC windows. The top of the range products include the latest

innovative designs available in a wide range of colours to suit modern

architectural requirements.

All window details and codes used in this size and range brochure are

for Hanlon standard sizes. Custom built windows can be made to your

specifications as a variation to our standard designs.

Most of the Aluminium range is classed as thermally improved and we also

have a series of Thermally Broken windows & doors. This meets the BASIX

requirements to help greenhouse emissions.

S1E Eco-Screen - Max frame size

The S1E Eco-Screen™ from Centor Architectural is a revolutionary productproviding eco-friendly retractable insect screening and solar control with fingertip operation. This product is the evolution of Centor’s award-winning S1 Insect Screen.

S1E allows homeowners to have complete control of their living environment.Used singly or paired together S1E is ready for use whatever the season ortime of day. S1E retracts horizontally and discreetly into its frame when not inuse – a revolutionary solution for those who refuse to compromise on style.

On openings up to 3.9m wide either single or multi-function options are available.

Where a single function is required choose from insect screen or sun filter fabric. For a multi-function option select both fabrics to create a two-in-onescreening solution.

Create a multi-function system using sun filter and insect fabrics to provide solarcontrol in the mornings and prevent insects entering the home in the evenings.

Suggested installation steps:1. If flashing is required fit the

flashing to sill.

2. Fit shims on sill plate/slab onmeeting stile or mullion centreline and at 450mm maximumcentres. Make sure these shimsare level.

3. Install the frame into the opening.

4. Fit shims on jambs making surethat frame is plumb and square,measure frame across diagonalsto check for square.

5. Fix the frame to structure bynailing through timber reveals.Make sure that frame is nottwisted. Alternative – On solidbrick construction fit galvanisedM.S. building-in lugs at 450mmmaximum centres.

6. Take care that head, sill and/orjamb are not dished or bowedduring construction.

7. Make sure the sill reveal is fullysupported, if necessary useadditional shims. Failure to do so may result in defectivesash operation.

8. Cement mortar droppings canpermanently damage aluminium.Remove cement as soon as possible.

9. Leave at least 10mm gap betweensill brick and frame to allow forpossible future building settlement.

10.On brick veneer constructionthere should be at least a 12mmgap between timber header andaluminium frame.

11.Aluminium windows are notdesigned to support eaves linings.

ON SITE CARE

If windows and/or doors are to bestored on site they should be in asecure clean dry area away fromcement, lime, paint, acid etc. asthese items may damage the finish.During installation they must beprotected from building fall-outsuch as wet plaster, mortar, paintand welding splatter. Wet plasterand mortar should be removedimmediately and soiled area washeddown with ample quantities ofclean water.

If you have to scrape off dry cementor mortar droppings the surfacewill almost certainly be damaged.

Use a sponge and lots of clean waterto remove cement and mortar beforeit sets and causes permanent damageto paint or anodised finishes.

Acid used for cleaning brickworkmust be prevented from getting ontoaluminium. Should this occur theacid must immediately be washedoff with clean water.

This is the most commoncause of permanent damage to the finish.

Tapes or coatings used to protectexposed surfaces must be removedcarefully. Lengthy exposure to sunlight can make them difficult to remove.

Door tracks and window sillsshould be protected from planks,scaffolding and barrows.

RECOMMENDED STORAGE AND CLEANING INFORMATION

Fix the window to structure with steel building-in lugs or nails,shim as indicated.

Installation of windows to be in accordance with Australian Standard AS 2048.
