• Julius Caesar was a very famous general• He was a politician • He then became the most important part of the

government• Caesar was very famous• He called himself a dictator for life• In the deck of cards Julius is the King of Diamonds • He solved problems and everybody trusted him• He was the nephew of another famous general,

What was his appearance?

• Caesar was an attractive man.

• He was tall, slim with fair skin and lively brown hair and eyes.

• He liked to wear long, fringed sleeves and never fastened his belt tightly.

• Later Caesar went bald but tried to cover it up

Caesars birth

•He was born on the 12th or 13th of July one hundred BC

•Julius was born in Rome, Italy

Caesar’s Marriages

• He had 3 marriages the first is Cornelia who died in 68 or 69 BC due to child birth

• Second to Pompeia whom he divorced shortly in 61 BC

• Third with Culpurna which took place in 59 BC until Caesar died

His Family

• His fathers name is Gaul Julius Caesar (so is Caesar’s but Caesar took away the Gaul)

• His father died when Julius was 15• His mothers name is Aurelia Cotta• Julius’s sisters are both called Julia, but

the first eldest sister is known as Julia Major, and the second eldest, Julia Minor

• Cleopatra and Julius were romantically in love for 14 years

• They wanted to marry each other but couldn’t because the Roman law said marriage was only allowed between 2 roman citizens

• Caesar got kidnapped by pirates in 75BC• They asked for 20 talents of silver and Julius

said they should ask for 50

• Julius had 2 children, Julia, and Caesarian

• Caesarian was Cleopatra’s son

• And Julia is from Caesar's first wife

His Inventions and Changes

• He changed the month Quintilis to Julius (July)• In 45 BC he changed the Roman calendar known as the

Julian calendar to 365 days and the leap year every 4th year at 366 days

• Caesar is the Roman who started gladiator fights as entertainment

• He made up the name emperor for controlling the empire• Julius invented the first recorded encryption technique

known as the Caesar Cipher. It was a code technique to send military messages. It involved letter shifting

• He invented the Codex, the code is literature in the form of books, instead of scrolls

• He died on March 15th A.D 44, he was only 52 years

• He was stabbed 23 times • His father-in-law, Cinna
