Hello everyone! What happened to the summer? It seemed to come and go so quickly. As I finished up my children’s back to school shopping, I was reminded of the great benefit of CNU’s Lifelong Learning Society. I hope that you take advantage of the savings. As Warwick Forest residents, you are entitled to a 50 percent discount on the normally $235 fee for a whole year of all the classes you desire to take. (That’s $117 for you!) I do have a few updates for you. The landscaping around the putting green will begin at the end of this month. I hope that many of you will participate in the upcoming golf tournament. Also, I was disappointed that the Yappy Hour at the dog park event had to be cancelled due to the heat, but I have learned that it is being rescheduled. Details for both events will be coming soon. I was stunned to learn how much everyone has donated to Mary Passage Middle School! Wow! You are so very generous, and I know the children and their parents are extremely thankful for your outpouring of support. As you know, many of these families struggle to make ends meet, making your contributions particularly helpful. I know Ms. Mary Passage would be so pleased! Warm regards,

Chaplain’s MessageBy Rev. Graham Patterson, Chaplain The Center of the Lord’s Prayer: Forgiveness

I once was told a story by a member of my church in Philadelphia. For more than five years, she carried a heavy burden of anger towards her former son-in-law, who had divorced her daughter. Eventually this burden was so debilitating for her that she decided to forgive her son-in-law, and so she did. One day she called him and told him that she forgave him for divorcing her daughter. He didn’t know what to say, so he just listened in silence for awhile, and then hung up. She said she felt immediate relief from letting go of her anger by forgiving him. This story illustrates how much forgiveness is healing for the one who forgives: physically, spiritually and emotionally. Sometimes the recipient of forgiveness can apologize for causing the injury and say thank you in return. Then there is a double blessing: healing for both. But this story tells us we are the first beneficiary when we find it in our hearts to forgive.

Hello everyone! You would think that since there is no room at the inn things would slow down, but it seems to have donejust the opposite! Our waitlist is growing by the day, and people have been coming in to tour – of course, we don’t have much to show except your own homes. Thank you! I would like to talk about housewarming parties. One of my very favorite things to do is throw a party when people move to Warwick Forest. We take care of the invites, the food, the valet...everything. All you have to do is tell us who you want to invite, select the menu options and choose a date. We will even take care of your thank you cards. We do not try to sell at your party. We are simply there to host. Sometimes guests do decide to join the waitlist organically, so it’s no secret that it is mutually beneficial. One of my favorite things about life at Warwick Forest is how easy it is for you to throw parties. I do hope you take advantage of it. Another little benefit we offer are business cards. If you would like business cards with your name, address, telephone number and/or email address, we will be happy to have those made for you at no charge. They come in handy for address changes as well as letting people know where and how to reach you. If you want or need new cards, please give Hannah a call and we will get them ordered for you right away.

All the best,
